It’s a debate between if Taylor Hall got an embellishment (most likely cus of refs) or if the other guy got a spearing call. He did kinda jab it into his shoulder

It was a penalty regardless. There is no reason for the blade to be up there.
Hall never indicated it did hit his face! Stick caught his jersey and shoulder pad and pulled him off balance. That's no embelishment
It doesn't have to hit the head to be high sticking… just above the waist…. embarrassing officiating

What I don’t understand is overturning a penalty. This wasn’t reviewed because it was never called a major/4 minute minor. They called the penalty and then a minute later say ehhh nvm. Even the announcer said that’s the first time he’s ever seen that. I’m not saying Hall didn’t embellish but I’m guessing this wouldn’t ever happen to a big market team
all high sticking should be reviewed. If a player goes down after a high stick review it. No reason to not get the call right.
