I swear this year the refs just flip a coin or only make calls when they feel like it or the player is nice to them! I am so confused why the NHL has done nothing about this?
The Blues players told him to go back down to a knee to make it look worse than it was. God, please don't let the NHL become like soccer with its diving and embellishments.
Blues fan here. McCarron, great hit . It's not his fault he's taller than the guy he hit. 5 minute major call is terrible. Maybe 2 minutes. Tucker got 2 minutes for "illegal hit the head." Whaaaaaat? Shouldn't that be a 5 minute major. Pretty poor officiating. Glad the Blues played a good game though.
That ref should be suspended. You have a plug in Mcarron taking direct aim at Buchnevich head gets the right penalty and then Walker throws a mast elbow directly to the head of preds player and gets less. Both guys should be suspended. Mcarron for 1-3 and walker 3-5. Today’s players are stupid knowing all the dangers of concussions and head trauma and they continue to throw hits to the head almost daily in the NHL. If Buttman really wants it to stop this and or gives a shit the suspensions and fines need to be drastically increased.
@NHL and Bettman need to be put under investigation. It's clear they have teams that they want to win on any given day and the blatant control of what refs call and when is fucking CRIMINAL

NHL refs have a bias against the bigger players. Rempe, McCarron. Second hit was far worse than the first. It is always that same ref at the center of these terrible calls.
If that was Rempe it would also be an 8 game suspension. What will McCarron get ? He is a repeat offender. The announcers are fools: demanding a review on a two minute penalty ? Do they not know the rules ? Or is it just home team bias ?
Best refs in hockey are at the men’s World Juniors. NHL is not as good as violence sells and refs are told to allow some violence. Wait to the playoffs … NHL refs get even more lenient.
So what everyone is saying is two things, one if your tall you can only check tall players and to bend over, leading with your head, to avoid getting checked. Got it.
