– Jets, Leafs and Oilers likely to finish in top-three divisional spots and thus automatically qualify for postseason play
– others possibly qualify for playoff action, with, between the:
— Sens and Habs, the Sens more likely to qualify if only either team qualifies
— Canucks and Flames, likely only either will qualify as both teams find themselves 8 standings points back of the first wildcard spot and seven back of third in the Pacific Division
