I believe the Lightning have began what should be a new tradition. Every year the winning team should gather around the cup before the captain is awarded the cup. It is a team win after all and that is a great moment to be had.
I’ve seen Curtis play in Colorado College when I was stationed at fort Carson. That’s awesome I got to see a Stanley cup champion backup goalie 20 years ago.
Now every MLB team has to stop the Rays from winning the World Series this season otherwise Tampa is going to be the winninist city this year. You know the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl right?
The best part of this is the fact I get to hear all these great tidbits from the announcers. They do a great job letting every cup winner own their individual moment hoisting the cup.
Ok but the 1995-1996 Red Wings won 62 games, lost in the playoffs. The 2018-2019 Lightning won 62 games, lost in the playoffs. The 1996-1997 Red Wings win the cup, and the 2019-2020 Lightning win the cup. Coincidence?
