  1. This teams bar is so low that they really think that it was some great achievement to beat a Vegas team at the end of road trip playing 3 games in 4 nights and back to back. Larkin should be saying they took advantage of the Vegas game and not thinking they played a great game. What a joke! Wings need a real 1C and make Mo the captain.

  2. My opinion that Larkin is not a great captain gets a lot of hate, but I don't see him as the leader we need. Sure he can put up points, but that doesn't always translate to leading the clubhouse. I miss 90s 00s Red Wings.

  3. Larkin's calling out the coach. There's no clear leadership, vision. direction.

Red Wings brought in McLellan to fix everything at the end of December.

I take this comment as Larkin calling out McClellan.

  4. The team still has a severe lack of talent, especially with the "Veterans" that they have picked up in free agency. Everyone in Detroit wants the Dan Campbell fire with every coach and leader. The truth is, Dan Campbell is one the few that can pull that off without becoming a broken record that players turn off after a while. This is not Dylan Larkin, and never will be. Larkin is just admitting that they are not executing. Duh. Please stop with the Bob Duff articles, he used to write much better stuff, but now it's all just click-bait stir the pot crap.

  5. Since day 1 Larkin never struck me as leadership material. He's a good player but it should be left at that. Let him concentrate on putting up points as an alternate captain. Seider on the other hand strikes me as Captain material.

  6. If you don't have really good depth scoring then at some point you need that guy who can put the team on his back. The Wings have neither. I'm not saying they can't be competitive. They certainly can be. It will either have to be by committee or by superstar. They aren't there yet.

  7. this guy wants out, this guy wants out so bad 😂😂😂

now he's even calling yzerman out to the media lol

  8. So optimistic, for red red wings at 9 years no playoffs. When are the rumblings Larkin wanting out…
Maybe the Izyer plan is a lemon!!!!

  9. Offseason conditioning won't help Tarasenko. He is done. He is also one of the reasons why Detroit will miss the playoffs.

  10. I question their physical conditioning and endurance. They're not a big, physically imposing team and they don't seem to have the stamina required for a team their size. They seem to tire and lose focus at some point in almost every game. George Patton said "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." A new team dietician ??

  11. Okay you have this guy that has been on a losing team under Holland, then in 2019 they do a complete tear down and start a rebuild under Yzerman and it's been incredibly tough. Imagine having to stay motivated for 8 years while not making the playoffs once. Then throw on the fact Larkin has lost a child. Like what do people want him to say? Atleast he's being honest. People have no idea how to try and put themselves in other's shoes sometimes. I think this is being blown out of proportion.

  12. Alarming? Bizarre? If they knew how to fix it, they would. Obviously they don’t have a solution. The roster, as constructed, isn’t good enough to fix the issues. He’s not calling anyone out. He’s not asking to leave the team. He knows the roster isn’t good enough, but he won’t say that.

  13. How about conditioning. On "penalty killing" we have players forming a box near our goal. Clumped up blocking the goalies view. No pressure on the puck. Just letting the opposing team pass back and forth til they see a shot they like. Pressure the puck handler and cut off angles!

  14. Larkin is the piece that needs to go. An asset that is tradable and helps us clear the way for new leadership to emerge. Larkin is holding the team back. Plays an individualistic style game. Doesn’t make players around him better. Never seems to step up when team needs him most.

  15. Trade everyone except Seider Raymond kasper danielson pelikka edvinsson cossa and Augustine. Restart the rebuild. And get a new gm yzerman ain’t it most of his free agent signings havent worked out and most of his trades ended up screwing the wings or not working out.
