Treliving has been no better than Dubas overall. Made solid moves to improve the back line but failed to land a puck-moving d-man who can QB the PP. Also whiffed on a middle-six center. That's not the kind of management record that wins Stanley Cups.

Reason Orielly didn't want to stay in Toronto cause the 4 clowns that only show up when they want run this team…NOT the coach…that is the problem…there's no accountability for these guys…carlo and the new guy ain't gonna save their ass come playoff time if the core 4 don't show…we have the best goalies this year…we should be capitalising on that.

I love the shots of Shanahan… this is his doing. Instead of having the stones to do what Colorado, Tampa, Vegas did and make ballsy changes… that weren’t always the most popular, he capitulated. To just cave to what the core four (at least three of them) want… and to have those players consistently – or mostly – be no shows in situations like this AND in pretty much every playoff… dude, that’s all you, Shanny. Three players making 10+ on a team that barely won one series in the last 20 or so years??? And I love JD and Sammy… but stop talking about Laughton and Reilly… this team is not built, cap wise, for the spotlight to be on them. It has to be on 34, 16 and 88. Period. With them taking so much of the cap, what you’re left with are the Scott Laughtons and Nick Robertsons of the world. That’s just it. Fair or not fair.
Why in the earth has not Berube tried Marner at centre. He could easily handle it.

Marner is a pure natural for centre ice. Berube referenced it once during the year but never tried. What in the world do they have to lose?

Look at the Habs tonight… down 3-0 to the mighty Avs… and they took it to a shootout to at least get a point. How confident can we be that the Leafs would beat either the Habs or the Sens in a first round matchup? I don’t think the Leafs, with their vaunted “core four”, are head and shoulders above either of those two. Buds likely lose a series with the Panthers. So the only ones that may be vulnerable are Tampa… but even they are scary with Kuch and Vasy (even through Vasy isn’t Vasy anymore… he’s still… well, Vasy). Maybe the Rangers would be a shoe-in for a first round Leafs win? I don’t know. Doesn’t look good for the Blue and White. Last point – can you imagine if it was Habs v Leafs in the first round and the Habs won… again? Twice in four years? That one would… hurt. Bad. Could happen.

I like Woll a lot, at his best he is an elite goalie. That being said, hes got a little bit of freddie in his game, where he will let one in where yes it a good scoring chance, but ud really want a save in that moment. ie: the bellows goal

Tonight's game is a texbook example of why the Leafs are not contenders for the Cup. Too inconsistent, too sloppy, too many passengers, zero killer instinct.
Cant belive we won a game against at least a moderate team.
Up 2-0 to a bottom team and the leafs couldn't close the deal. No killer instinct only good thing Florida and Tampa lost but they could've been alone in first place where is the leadership?
Laughton looks slow out there too. Has nothing to show for after 8 games.
