  1. maybe the NHL should think outside themselves next expansion, maybe a city like quebec is good for the game, not in a financial sense but in a spirit of hockey sense, a greater good if you will. Maybe the league puts a team there without demanding a huge expansion fee, instead they provide opportunity just for a team to exist outside a "huge market just for the good of the game without trying to grow the game.

  2. I am a Caps fan, so obviously, I have a lot of bias for the Caps broadcast, but outside of them, I really like the Panthers and Kraken broadcasts. The Canadian broadcasts are all good, too, and they all seem to have a similar feel. One of the things I really enjoy about the Caps broadcasts (with Craig Laughlin more than Alan May, but Craig has done it for years), is that they love good hockey and get excited for the other team doing something incredible. I think that's an overlooked component of being a commentary person is to acknowledge what the other team did really well and what your team could have done better. Craig and Joe B feel like a class of their own.

  3. I just think expansion is over doing it.
There are markets that can probably support a team but what about the amount of talent?

    Give Quebec City a team!!!

  4. @10:52 When leafs lost to the blue jackets, wasnt that a play-in round and not a playoff round..and it was also a best of 5.

  5. As a French Canadian, any french commentators not called Pierre Houde. They are completely brain washed.

  6. Missing Hughes, Hamilton and Siegenthaler is a back breaker. Don’t blame the frustration from everyone involved, unless a miracle happens they will most likely get dominated by the canes in round one if the standings stay the same.

  7. Its childish, its not how a successful locker room treats eachother. They arent making the playoffs 100%

  8. kov has been awful ever since siegs went done. Plus keefe is just not a good coach, his systems are failing and he isnt adjust or anything. Fitzy made a huge mistake by extending kov too cuz now you have to trade both nemec and casey cuz they both need waivers next year. NJ is a circus. Keefe is too so soft, he doesn't coach. He sees problems and does nothing. also why not talk about leafs not holding leads? berube seems to be the same as keefe

  9. You guys don’t watch the team. Kovacevic just got a new contract and he’s been playing like dogshit. Devils need this. It’s completely on the players

  10. A minute in, and already CJ just dances around the topic offering nothing but word salad. Can this guy ever give a real answer or real opinion?

  11. Technically Keefe missed the playoffs in his first year with the Leafs when they lost the play-in round to the Jackets, but yeah unusual circumstances

  12. Weegar's the real star for Calgary. Guy has 41 points as a defenseman, and is their their +/- leader, all while being one of the highest blockers and hitters in the league.

  13. Doc Emrick and Bob Cole are the first 2 faces on the Mt. Rushmore of hockey broadcasters

  14. Keefe was handed a loaded leafs team! As if he wouldn’t have made the playoffs same in the AHL as for the Devils they should have done their homework before they hired him! Ok the devils have a team with a lot of great players but very much injury prone! 2 years in a row for Hamilton and Hughes we’ll see how good he is next year with all the other teams knocking at the door! Keefe hasn’t proven anything yet as a coach losing out how many years now in the playoffs!

  15. I never really cared for the Golden goal call either. Always seemed too rehearsed to me. Like he had the catch phrase ready and waited to drop it.

  16. Something I personally think the NHL should at LEAST TRY is having Habs games (regular season) in Quebec City. Not sure if the arena in QC is comparable to the Bell Center but I guarantee u put say a couple of Saturday night Leafs Habs games theres they'd instantly sell out.

  17. Kovacevic's comments were very mild, the paraphrase made it seem less mild, and then Keefe overeacted. Considering is a bottom half defensive defenceman, and most of the Devils issues recently have been offence… It makes no sense to be so harsh or call him of all people out.

  18. Gary Thorne is a legend in hockey and baseball broadcasting! Wish ESPN brought him back for NHL Games

  19. I’m a Ranger fan so I am biased about my favorite broadcaster, but 1 thing I’ve heard a few times from opposing fans when they had to listen to the Rangers broadcast to watch their team is that Sam Rosen just calls a good game for both teams. It kinda annoyed me at times Sam giving an enthusiastic call for a goal against the Rangers, but it makes the broadcast more watchable and enjoyable for any team’s fans. Peak professionalism is Sam Rosen

  20. This is why players don't play for Keefe, and explains why his teams underperform. I'm not a Leafs fan but as an outsider I always felt like he was throwing his players under the bus when he was in TO.

  21. As a Devils fan, Kovacevic has been not been anywhere as reliable as he was earlier in the season, his play really hasn't been great since he got his contract extension, especially bad over the last couple of games & he had the worst turnover of the season to this point which resulted in the GWG by Huberdeau against Calgary, he was under pressure & made a very inexperienced poor play/pure panic and hot potatoed it to the opponent right in the slot, with traffic. Literaly unstoppable shot/play, unless Kovacevic plays it correctly, which would look like playoff hockey. This was more than warranted from Keefe.
