people act like the hawks aren’t going to get better, it’s not like they have no prospects in pipeline it’s not like they won’t have a top 4 pick in this draft. Hawks have a ton of prospects. who are playing above their draft position. just look at their prospects stats in the CHL and NCAA. lardis literally has the most goals from a chl player since tavares. Bad teams get the 1st overall pick no one fit expected the hawks to be good epically bedard at least not in his first two seasons. it’s not like the hawks haven’t tried to go for big free agents. they went after jake guntzel (however you spell it) but he decided to go to tampa. probably because their an actual contender rn. hawks have prospects. craig button draft boards are always super jank anyways every single time be does them and they’re usually fairly wrong. saying they have nothing coming up for him is dead wrong. plus chicago going to match any offer he gets until he’s a UFA. i mean he probably shouldnt sign an extension rn and bet on himself for next seasons when he has better surrounding cast. I think teams are going to try but I think that the offer would have to be around $15M aav for the Blackhawks to think about not matching. I do think that there is a chance that he signs one if the money is more than what the Hawks are offering.

Blackhawks have an extremely bright future. There's no way Connor Bedard will get offer sheeted, if he does Chicago will just mach.
Let's say this hypothetical happens, Bedard signs an OS, Chicago is matching that alllllll day long. He needs to want out and go to management about it to force their hands. That always ends up looking bad for the player and puts a mark on them. I think Chicago never should have had that pick because of their coverup, but now everybody is stuck in a bad situation.
His a career is just starting as Chicago is rebuilding and forming their team. It makes sense for him to stay be the center piece of their team and become a dynasty like Kane and Toews were for the Chicago. Why rush and contend for a cup when he has a long career ahead him. He’s not an over aged without a ring and wants one before retiring.
