  1. So much Matthews talk in the Bedard video.
    (joking/not joking)
I see the comparison in some ways, but how does the Leafs team from Matthews' rookie and sophmore years compare to the Hawks team this year and last?
Could there be a closer comparison?
My first thought was Dale Hawerchuk in 1981. The Jets were a record-breaking disaster the year before.
    What are your thoughts?

  2. So what you’re saying is, defenses need to let Bedard shoot or else they are helping him evolve into a more dynamic threat, eh?

  3. What about Temuu Selane? I assume he played in the top league in Finland but had an explosive first season that he never really matched. I can be wrong here. Interesting video as always, Rob!

  4. Bedard is the Hard Carry for the team. A player that feels like he has to do it all by myself.

Sadly they traded away a lot of the better goal scorers/passers so he truly is alone right now.

  5. The issue is Chicago go players this offseason, but only Danato and Teuvo are smart players in the forward group (and unfortunately Teuvo looks about done). Foligno is still one of his best running mates because he thinks the game at a high level – he just can’t skate with the kid. I really hope they go for it this off season to get him so actual help.

  6. Bedard is lucky he's playing in the NHL soft era. You heel drag crossing the blueline in 2005, you're career is over. Scott Stevens would have killed Bedard on that play. Defensemen don't know how to play anymore. Or have been told not to touch the kid.

  7. They are probably gonna get Michael Misa which he is god at passing so he and bedard are gonna be a threat

  8. A lot of people don’t understand that was probably the planned play. Bertuzzi had a very narrow window to pass before Bedard was doubleteamed. Dumping with a hard forecheck was probably drawn up for the situation

  9. The fact Bert is on a line with Beds should tell you how the Hawks are doing. I love Bert but he just ain’t there yet. But let’s be honest it’s basically Beds on his own most nights

  10. My only argument is that Bertuzzi didn’t really have any prime scoring opportunities after receiving the pass from Bedard. Winnipeg had 5 men back and the dman fronted him pretty quick. The dump in wrap around was questionable but how did the puck get by 2 of the hawks players? It looked like you cut/edited the clip slightly.

  11. There's a debate for Bedard not being generational, and I see that especially with his defense and size, but "bust" isn't even close. This kid is awesome

  12. Spemcer knight is an elite goalie if bedard can hang out and wait for a return of PKane or some miracle player in free agency

  13. a few weeks ago Bedard passed the puck to a wide open Landon Slaggart who could have picked up the puck and tossed it in the goal it was so open… but he passed it back to Bedard where the goalie was already setup…. its going to take some time.

  14. If Chicago won’t take care of him, I’m sure the Habs and Marty St Louis will be more than happy to help built him as a player
