Yes, but you have to consider that Gretzky has more assists than any other player has total points as well. Ovi is an epic scorer for sure.

not the same, Ovie is way better than Gretzky….Ovie did it all himself, where Gretzky had 2guys on ice with him all the time and other playes would not hit Gretzky so he had easy time on ice all the time….

keep in mind there was a lockout then there was covid. we would be talking Ovi breaking 1000 goal today and not Gretzky record. that record supposed to be broken 2 years ago literally. let that sink in….
