1. Under Laviolette Perrreault will be banished to the 4th line and about 6 minutes of ice time. DO NOT sentence him to that kind of punishment. Wait until we have a coach who actually cares.

  2. I don't think the Rangers would want to do it either, however Gabe Perreault holds all the cards in this situation. The Rangers will probably sign him to his ELC.

  3. Now that the ELC is confirmed signed, I’m basically 90% sure he’ll be on the squad Wednesday night. I agree this is a bad move, but I think it’s what happens. Would you agree Jon?

  4. Dude, I appreciate that you are thoughtful. But you you are dead ass wrong. Ranger fans know patience and I question whether you undertand Ranger fans. he is needed. he needs the NHL to protect him from being traded. Let him show what he can do. And sometimes, and I mean this with due respect, but Kreider happened because Torts had balls. Pete better not screw this up.

  5. Kid is undersized and not ready , bring him up to play 4 minutes on the 4th great idea lets follow the same plan as kakko and Laf .

  6. if he did sign i wouldnt mind him playing in the ahl for this season but next season he should be up and playing third line min immediately none of this play in the ahl crap

  7. Undersized guy to be on a checking line. Yeah!! The guy isn't even 180 lbs. I really hope they give him some AHL time to develop skill wise and physical wise.

  8. No reason why perreault should play in the NHL now, Rangers are terrible this year, wait till next year or the following year

  9. I don't know if he's ready or not. I do know that basing his status on what happened to Kakko and Lafreniere is ridiculous.

  10. It's a big change going from being the big man on campus in college, to being the low man on the totem pole and getting knocked around by extra large, mature men. The travel as far as being on your own essentially, can be overwhelming. Your assertion that in no way do you want him exposed to this toxic locker room is also spot on. Guys are playing like crap, and whining about ice time.

  11. DU shut him down. His numbers weren't as impressive in his sophomore year with the Jesuits.

  12. Sit Kreider & play Gabe…Kreider is like a pawn on a chess board that doesn't get moved …What the hell…what have they got to lose with 8 games remaining?

  13. thing is whether to burn an ELC year isnt nec a team choice. top college prospects these days have a ton of leverage. so in a sense its kind of a formality to burn the first year.

  14. People forget that Kreider was not instantly dressed for the NHL right out of BC. Rangers healthy scratched him for 2 games, where the coaches told him to just watch Carl Hagelin & to play like he did. That helped him to develop some comfort & familiarity with the team’s game plan. Last thing Gabe needs is to feel lost on the ice, commit mistakes & lose confidence.

  15. The only difference between Perrault and laf and kakko is that laf and kakko came up straight from the draft as 18 year olds. Laf should have gone back to junior for a year or played in the ahl and Kakko should have played in the Finnish league he was already in, he should have stayed there for at least a year. Perrault has played in college for 2 years now since he was drafted. I was in the same boat at you saying that they should wait til next year to sign him since they probably won’t make the playoffs this year, but since they already signed him, they might as well put him in the lineup and throw him in the top 6 and see what he can do and see if he can help them win some games. Hopefully he tears it up and scores some goals like he did in college, if he struggles then they can send him to the ahl. But since they are already struggling and are they already signed him, they might as well see what he can do with the big club.

  16. Pretty sure at this rate they wouldn’t burn an ELC. He’s 19, and if he plays 9 or fewer games, his contract would be a entry-level-slide deal and extend to four years. As of now, they’d need to make the playoffs to prevent the slide—and he’d have to play in them, which would also suggest he was effective.

    Correct me if tgats wrong.
