@Blackhawks de Chicago

#nhl #hockey #Highlights #Alexovechkin #ChicagoBlackHawks #washingtoncapitals

  1. Ove only got a chance to get this record because Sydney gave up on racking up goals and instead focused on assisting and making plays.

  2. What makes Ovechkin's career so special is how he hasn't slowed down much at all. Oldest player to reach 50 goals in a season and second oldest to reach 40 in season (he's missed a ton of games this year too).

Gretzky still the greatest but Ovechkin gets points for his longevity.

  3. I like this a lot….Always hated Favre laid down for Strahan's sack record. Mark Gastenau didn't like it either. hahahaha

  4. Records are made to be broken, but scoring in the NHL is so much higher now.

    The NFL has more games…

    Congratulations to ovi

  5. 895 not matter he do 900.
and lets remove empty goals from count he not want lol lol
yes it say 65 empty net more than wayne lol

  6. not matter he allready lost doing it faster. even not mean nothing. he can be do same and still not matter at all.
could score any game in career 1 more lol or 1 day less sick. even better all games he 0 goal he could be sick

  7. 1:37 again just "record" 3 times 40+ season lol 35 or older.
34 or older is another record. we can create record just made up

  8. 4:33 not matter he has same as wayne, but actually not. wayne did it less games. so he lost that allready, but he can be only one go over 900

  9. Stop…. its been a running issue for the last 3 years that the caps were putting him out in dozens of empty net situations solely because he was chasing Gretzky. Spots where they were up two goals and teams pulled goalie , normally you let none goal scorers out there for clean up but they were still putting Ovechkin out there and it caused fights, i remember one particular game with the flyers where Travis K went after ovechkin for it. If it was the last game of the season he would have taken the cheap empty net goal without blinking .

  10. Watching Gretsky play was like watching Jordan. Games in my country were shown after midnight, but even with work the next day i would stay up to watch such a special player. Congrats to Ovchkin, but there will only ever be one Gretsky imho.

  11. A no brainer that he wouldn't want to break the record with an empty net goal. He knew that he would break the record and just needed to wait until the time was right.

  12. Not a fan of the Capitals at all. That being said, that was a classy thing to do and say. The best goal scorer for sure. Classy respectful move as a nod to 99. Wanted to break it with a non empty net goal. Stay classy 8. Congrats

  13. I do not care what he accomplished. He still is a Putin lover through and through. Agrees with the invasion of Ukraine. Wake up America!

  14. Do you think Connor Bedard is the next one to beat Gretzky. Alex might be end up doing a 1000 goals season career. Ain't that right though!??, a full — thousand — goals. 895 is already the ultra hard level, and with at least a season to come, makes it 2, even 3 more seasons like that, and you get a guy with 1100 career NHL goals, world record.

  15. He’s a legend because he didn’t want the record goal to be an empty netter. That’s just foresight. Could you imagine the ridicule he’d open himself up to. He’s a legend, but not for this decision.

  16. Goals are everything when judging a player.
Assists need a goalscorer to exist but a goal doesn't need an assist to count.
This is way Ovi's record is the most important record of all and no one looks to overtake him in the next decade or two!
