Mikko was a perfect pick up for us
I feel the same with their first periods lately… Too shaky and careless in preparation for the playoffs . Will we finally see Seguin play with those 2 guys for a lengthy playoff run? Let's hope so!
I feel like it’s not talked about how much a bit of physicality fuels our play and sparks periods like that third last night. The building was electric throughout after that sick deflection from Granny too 🔥
Sometimes I think they are coasting through the first period and maybe some of the second kind of getting ready for the playoffs. I say that because they seem to play a little slow at first but can turn it on to full speed in a second and look like a totally different team. Everything changes. Passes are crisper and on target, checks and scrumming for pucks get more physical, they turn on their nitrous and rip up the ice like the they are on the salt flats. The last thing that the other team wants see is our players in the zone. It's cool to watch. Playoff hockey is even crazier and faster so I think they are preparing for that. Let me say this about Rant. He starts the season with his usual team, gets traded to a team he didnt wanna be on, has a slump, gets traded to a totally different team AGAIN, and in less than 15 games with his third team this season he's been tearing it up. Can you imagine what this top line will look like with a full offseason and training camp together? Im calling it now, the Stars top line next year will be the top line in the NHL for points.
I think one of the things that bothers me is the ice time early in the game. Im not sure but i think those guys dont get enough time early and they dont get their legs under them. Pete might need to need to give those top three lines a few extra shifts to get them going. 4th line is great but theyre not going to win us the game.

I was about to tear my hair out after the first period. This has been going on for multiple seasons. I will say that they played really well in the the period without Benn in the lineup. And Rant has found his place. I think he loves playing with Roope & Robo.
The avalanche are coasting too but barely making it through some shit opponents
We’re giving up way to many chances for the opponent to score. A team like the avs will capitalize on these mistakes. Hopefully we can lock in when the playoffs come.
Mikko is definitely an elite player, and is a great asset to the Dallas Stars.

Maybe the Stars take the first two periods easy on purpose to provide practice for their goaltenders?😂
