I think we are taking for granted how hard it is to consistently draft as well as Yzerman has. That is the number one thing a GM does. I could care less if we are a 1st round exit team, or a bubble team. Free agent signings work out less than they succeed. I would rather have a gm who knows how to build the right way than pick the right aging free agents.

I agree with stick that he waited too long for the coaching change. But also agree with spenny and Neil about the other points. Brady Tkachuk or Larkin? Tage Thompson or Larkin? Auston Matthews or Larkin? Barkov or Larkin? Kucherov or Larkin?! These are the teams in our division and our best player just wasn’t great this year.
But. We have 6 Yzerman drafted players on the team..3 of which this was their first full year. Development takes awhile. Soderblom has been really surprising. Raymond will take another step. The D needs help that’s a must. And Kasper will just keep getting better.

Larkin has regressed this year. I think it’s time to address another top line center! Kane is a defensive liability and we can’t score 5 on 5 plus our D sucks!!!! We are a top line center and a couple D linemen away. I still trust the Yzerplan. Stick isn’t too smart when it comes to hockey
