Get 91 retired and get him in scouting
91 deserves to be retired!
ska ice is nhl ice
I remember reading a few years back. Maybe more than a few years 15 or 20. I read a story how Federov's accountant stole all of his money and he was broke. Anyway yeah I remember watching the Russian 5 back in the day. One game against Calgary they had a 6 minute shift. It looked like a power play. Calgary just couldn't take the puck away from them. I remember Federov's 5 goal game against the Caps. I knew I was watching something special back then.
He was the first to bang Anna Kournikova! Legend 🚨
Let's go Red Wings!! Woooooooo!!!!
2:49 vote of confidence. Well, whoa.. uhh.. yea.. I'll find my legs first.
Where are we going? Where is this "out there" you speak of?
Holmstrom 96 deserves his number retired in Detroit more than Federov 91 🤯 that's my 🔥 🥵 take
Federov nailed it. I also said we needed defensive players that can take another player out of the play and stay in Detroits team play. I was wrong about powerplay since we are third in the league last i checked. However we do need players that can gain the offensive zone and defend the neutral zone.
Seider has a lot of criticism, more than likely due to his play level . A single defenseman cannot carry a team in a particular area every game. Some games, not all.
Probably Bertuzzi is who Federov is more than likely speaking of he was young enough and talented to want to keep.
These are my opinions not fact. Besides dual play players that part is necessary in present winning teams formula watch other teams and you see fast puck movement and less turnovers.
Federov doesn't seem to be consistent with his views first he says there is no coaching in the AHL then goes on to say in the NHL you just get thrown into games then he says about Detroit they have a good coach but young team without veterans ? I mean they have Kane, Petry + Chiarot the latter two played in the finals in 2021 and Kane has won 3 cups and Larkin has played in the NHL for 10 years.
There’s this one guy who started in the NHL at 20 who did pretty good. His name is Ovechkin. He had a pretty decent rookie season and not a bad career I would say
Keep in mind that Federov is not giving us the unvarnished truth in his commentary about the North American leagues. For the NHL's part, it's true, the focus is on performing, on results – players are just expected to figure it out at that level, and most do. But the KHL is no different – it's a fully professional league where there is no teaching the game. In fact, I would argue that the KHL is worse than the NHL in this regard, because in Russia, the hierarchy is more rigid. They will play washed-up, older (or simply, less-talented) players over better, younger ones, if the older, worse ones have put in their time and shown loyalty to the club. Whereas in the NHL, can you really imagine any coach scratching Demidov, or playing him only 7 or 8 shifts a night, because a player like Trevor Lewis or Michael McCarron has been with the team for years and deserved to play more? Well…Tortorella might…but he doesn't exactly get…good results now, does he? The point is, obviously a player's character is important, but it's not the limiting factor in governing who gets an opportunity to play – talent is far more crucial. An 18-year old elite player doesn't have to put in his time riding the bench before he is given top-6 minutes. If he's ready, he's ready.
Also, Federov is straight-up lying about the American Hockey League, which IS a league in which teaching is part of the process, a league where players aren't expected to just figure it out on their own. Why do you think so many NHL teams sometimes send good young players (who will usually go on to have long NHL careers) down to the AHL? They want them to learn. And so, AHL coaches actually do have to do a fair amount of teaching, as they hone players' hockey skills and get them up to speed for the higher difficulty of the NHL game. Moreover, for a Russian player who has NHL ambitions, I would argue it's better to be in the AHL, than the VHL, because at least in the AHL they can learn the North American game, adapt to the culture, and be immersed in the English language. Does it occasionally backfire, resulting in the player coming back to Russia with less confidence? Absolutely. But let's not kid ourselves – while those players might do better in the VHL, and may even go on to long KHL careers had they stayed in Russia, they would not make an NHL career more likely taking that path. The dream of every talented teenage hockey player the world over is playing in the NHL, and most will do what it takes to maximize their chances of getting there.

Fedorov is being very political in his answer about the wings status as he doesn't want to offend his friend yzerman. If you read between the lines he says that his buddy is working hard but it's just not working and the tab is directionless stuck in the mud.
To be perfectly honest yzerman should be fired for his abysmal player evaluation and team building let alone wasting years or rebuild on horrible coaching decisions. Fedorov is a multi time khl champion coach and gm and the fact we hired both bald clowns when he was available to coach is sad. Could have had an in with ask Russian players league wife that would have lined up to be coached by him.
Just end the crap wings owners. He deserves to be retired a wing like pavel. Give him a one day contract and do right by him and hang him in the rafters with the other greats. Regardless of him leaving for Anaheim for $. That’s his right as a free agent as any player. I haven’t seen another team that refuse to retire one of their greatest players and impactful players over hurt feelings he left as a free agent. Very petty on the Ilitch’s.
Touch grass nerd red wings rebuild is total dog water
hahahaa sherbak. for love of god, dont put him in same class of Demidov.
that's an insult 😭 lol
Detroit needs Dmitri Buchelnikov to come over a year early!❤🙏🤞
