  1. looking forward to this season, best we can possibly do is a 2nd or 3rd round playoff run

  2. There isn't much to say about the Sharks, but that is a good thing. They have only missed the playoffs once since the 2003-04 season, and I think they are the best team on paper in the Pacific Division. They are as deserving as any team of a Stanley Cup, and I hope they get it before most of this core moves on and/or retires. I'm a Red Wings fan too, and I loved the playoff battles with San Jose over the years, especially 2011.

  3. People have been saying the Sharks only have 2-3 years until their window closes for the past 10 or so years. At some point it's inevitably going to happen, but the statement is tired at this point. They did everything they could to get Tavares, they just couldn't be the team he grew up rooting for. Really excited to see how Kane fits into this group getting to play for a full year with them.

  4. These guys need to trade for tanner glass. He will get more points than the entire black hawks team this season

  5. I said it before, and I'll say it again. The Sharks blew their one chance at the cup when they failed to defeat the Penguins in 2016. I said that if they didn't win the cup that year, then they will not win a cup until the current core of the team is gone. (Thornton, Pavelski, Burns etc.)

They probably had another chance two years prior in 2014, when they had a very solid team. They however, instead infamously choked away their 3-0 lead to the Kings. The Sharks window at being a cup contending team has closed. They have very talented core players, but they are players that cannot get the job done when it counts the most.

  6. Just my perspective, but I think San Jose will have a down year. Someone has to. Reason being, i think Los Angeles and Anaheim are prime teams, Las Vegas might still be a top team. And Calgary made the needed additions to bring them back into the playoffs. Leaving Arizona who are improved and might be a surprise team, and same with Vancouver with all their young guns maybe making a stir. Leaving us with Edmonton who i think wants redemption and will get that as a wild card team at best. So for me, San Jose might be in there but will fall short (only a few points) behind the wild card teams.

  7. Sharks window isn't closing. Couture is in his prime, they have Hertl, Kane, Meier, Tierney, Labanc, Donskoi as under-the-radar goal scorers and playmakers. Good young D in the pipe, great goalie tandem and Ryan, Heed, DeMelo etc on the blueline. the "problem" is that these guys aren't in highlight reels so nobody knows them.

  8. The Sharks have no regret on Kovalchuk. Was not worth matching what LA offered. Tavares they whiffed on, but they also had no chance given his intentions, they tried. Window is short with Pavelski/Couture/Burns, but I think the forwards are set long term. Gotta just find defense. I personally want some team to take on Burns' contract

  9. Hopefully Thornton can be productive after surgery. Incredible at his age he's still producing more than players who are in late 20's. Jagr proved age doesn't matter in my opinion… LETS GO BLUES!

  10. Anyone else just curious whether or not they were going to do San Jose before Saint Louis?

  11. – Wonder if the Sharks can somehow finally land themselves a 'big fish' if they were to acquire Erik Karlsson from the Sens. Then they can say they managed to achieve something this offseason. San Jose still looks pretty decent, it's been said that their 'window' is closing, yet they still put out a good team on the ice somehow. Eventually they're going to have to move on from 'Big Joe', who's not really the 'Big Joe' of old anymore.

  12. Watch the off days episode on the Sharks YouTube channel with Evander Kane.
Him and his family LOVE San Jose

  13. They're the same team except missing Boedker. They really ought to pick up another forward, perhaps Pacioretty.

  14. All those who have San Jose in 2nd has Vegas in 1st Vegas is NOT winning the division the sharks are far better than the knights

  15. Wilson's saving the cap space for someone at the next deadline to give the sharks that extra push before the playoffs

  16. And they have Karlsson Nice job pierre Dorian Now Colorado has more chances of getting jack hughes.

  17. This Analysis of the sharks is horrible. This guy on the right has his binder paper in hand because he doesn’t know. He said 100 points season twice. Absolutely horrible
