Trenin needs to be suspended for the rest of the season and going into the playoffs. otherwise more players will think its ok to pound on guys that are down
It was pivotal at that point in the game that Trenin really didn't penalize the Wild with his actions. Refs gave him a game misconduct but no additional penalty that put the Canucks on the PP since Blueger was given a coincidental minor for the poke from the bench. Vancouver was up 2-1 at that time in with 15 minutes left in a game the Wild definitely had to win.
No one complained about the Vancouver player punching the wild player when he was on his knees. You are ok with that though. Right? But you spout off about some code when the Wild player punches the Canuck player when he’s down.
But I thought fighting was part of the game….its all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Let's be honest here, the reason they fight is to hurt the other guy…attempting to get the guy out out of the game and possibly end his career. Both guys threw punches when the other guy was down on the ice. Both players were " attempting to injure" that is what a fight is about. Attempt to injure the other player, hit hit him as hard as you can and you are glorified by everyone until you " break the code" If fighting is a part of the game, then both players receive the same consequence.
Cansucks fans just need something else to cry about. You know, something other than the Miller/Pettersson fued and the general poor play all season long.
I like hockey but I would like it even more without fights. Let’s get real… Head injuries come with fights. Let’s not be hypocrite by pretending that any sort of ‘code’ can frame fights against injuries. What do you expect when you allow two 6’3’’ athletes throw their fists at each others head? So you end up penalizing as per consequence, not behavior !?!
In the "bad old days", for us oldsters, the time the mindless call "old time hockey," throwing punches when someone was down unfortunately happened all the time. There are a thousand Youtubes that show this. "Old Times" were not the good old times.
The "code" has seemed to become extinct this year. I've seen many throw punches when the opponent is down this year..but this is the worst…im a Wild fan
Looked like Forbert threw 2 while Trenin was falling onto his knees. Then Trenin throws one good one while Forbert was down. Plus the spear from the bench–which should be 5 and a game. Trenin owes them a couple still. The refs pussed out on these calls.
Not at all. You are taught to keep hitting until the Ref stops it. He made no contact once separated. Cool story bro. Until facts get in the way and why there was no PP.
Start doing this back to the Minnesota Wild players and see how they feel. Probably better than wagging your finger and telling them they are not playing fair… lol
Don't like Minnesota..1. He didn't sucker him..and the other dude threw punches when the guy was on his knees..remove the towel..didn't even look like he was bleeding..laying on the ice to try to get the extra penalty..

Good that they got the Vancouver player who speared the Trenin from the Vancouver bench (#53-Teddy Blueger). That was a dik move and was on film, too.
I don’t see a problem with this. It’s a fight FFS. Plus he got punched twice when he was down. Libtards have to ruin everything.

Clean hit by Trenin on Hughes, and Forbert thought he'd jump him because of that. He deserved a bell ringing.
Looks clean to me
There is no team in the NHL I care less about than the Canucks.
Bertuzzi did that. Where was the code then?
If the punch crossed the line, why did no one from the Canuck bench jump Trenin

Ground and pound MMA style.
the responses to this fight just shows how many fans the 4 nations tourney brought in 😂
Яков правильно сделал что сопернику наподдал. Нечего было лежачего бить
Chatfield barely even body slammed someone and everyone talked about it yet no one is talking about this

was a clean hit from the start. I guess quit picking a fight every time a guy gives a clean hit
Maxx is a Moron just like his old man! He likes to dance and hold on tight. Think he’s a little bit on the Queer side
Someone does that to my team mate I'm leaving the bench and we're both going to be out for a few games.
Announcers need to shut it. Wild player was on knees while the other took t swings at him. F around and find out!
How does somebody put this video together and not list or show what the actual calls were?
so what as the penalty ? HOW DARE YOU NOT POST THE PENALTIES, ARE YOU AN IDIOT CHASIN YOUR TAIL YOU MORON
clean hit on Hughes and they forced him to fight …. with this "code".
When are they gonna let men play…
The Vancouver Cucks are a soft team. Trenin put that bum in his place

WTF – how did he? He was on his knees and was getting hammered . And yes he may have broke it but you have to look at what caused it! Pussies talk!
How does a Canuck player not go after that guy?????? Jesus Christ. Lack of response is as brutal as the punch itself.
When the enforcer was removed from the NHL so was the code.
Good luck with the rest of your season bud. It’s over.
Ooh!! the crowd at LGBTQ Arena were not happy.

Plus, the guy slammed his head on the ice…I expect that kind of conduct from Tom Wilson, not this guy.
Fuck the code like the geneva suggestions anything goes in hockey don't be a woke pussy.

Suspension
We can really see he feels bad while he has to leave. Lovely player on a very clean team
Hebert reffing, no wonder out of control

A fight is a fight, breaking an unwritten rule is another thing, think the refs did the right thing by looking at it and calling it.
Well…. don't pick a fight with Trenin over a clean ,legal hit if your all going to be pussies about a late punch that was clearly pulled. 😂
