The pressure is on Carolina. You made a point of the Degenerate gamblers, or even just the hockey community and the public in general, and how the will all pick the Canes, but if the Devils find a way to take game 1, or they take this series, which they can if they simply can have Jacob Markstrom playing the right way at the right time, the Canes will have serious questions. This is especially if Andersen/Kochetcov gets lit up by a statisticaly subpar offensive unit, without star forward Jack Hughes, meanwhile, im not trying to state that the Devils dont have a thing to prove in this series, because the time will have to come for this group to be resilient throughout the injuries to the key player to this team such as Hughes and Siegenthler, but it does show that this team this season just may not be fit for a deep run unless Markstrom is really in his zone.(this may not be in your eyes but in the eyes of many other hockey fans). They should feel more comfortable because of this and then take down the Canes. And if they lose, nobody says you have something to do where you need to go and rebuild, because this core will work. It is simply because you lacked a top 10 forward in the whole leauge in Jack Hughes and a top Defensemen, if we are talking about their actual defense, which is Jonas Siegenthaler. And maybe the expectations for this Hurricanes team is in fact too high, because their opponent is no joke, especially Jacob Markstrom getting hot out of nowhere. Personally, I believe that the Canes should be able to get the job done in 7, but this really can go either way, and anyone who doesn’t think that either doesn’t know puck or is lying to themselves. Its not like Carolina is some Juggernaut either. I know this because my Rangers took them down last year. I imagine if the Devils were to end up winning this series, Markstrom would have to serve a near identical role to Shesterkin, just because of the amount of shots that they take. Im referring to Shesterkin’sability to come up big in the big moments, and I say Markstrom is equally as capable. Also the combination of the best special teams is huge, it not only leads Carolina, but it is an advantage over the whole league, which is necessary for a deep playoff run. On the other hand, Carolina is deeper, and they have that experience. They also haven’t lost a first round in a long time it has been many years. But I will say it is quite outrageous that there are people who reall think this is a sweep. This could also come down to coaching and I truly believe unbiased that Rod Brind’Amour is a better coach than Sheldon Keefe. One way or the other, this will be an entertaining series, and no matter the outcome ill be a happy fan of the game.

Canes fan coming in peace. I think the odds makers are off. I still think that we beat you guys this time around, but I would be surprised if it was in less than 6. I can't speak for all of NC, but Canes fans know that this is the weakest Canes team since 2019. We are super vulnerable, it is definitely an off year for us and you guys could definitely knock us out! I think that Canes fans like NJ most out of the NY/NJ teams, and hate the Rangers the most, though I get why y'all would hate us given the postseason history,

Carolina lost to Ottawa tonight. They are ice cold right now as well. Didn't do anything in meaningless games so we both go in with alot of recent losing. Canes back to back losses in Canada. Slate clean now 0-0. Game 1 huge

That last game against the canes this year where the bullshit necas stuff happened, that was the game where everything turned on us this year. The refs started screwing us almost every game. Players started getting hurt.
Our bottom 6 sucks right now…. Unfortunately. Mercer has been disappointing this year. Our bottom 6 contributes almost nothing right now.
I have all the faith in the world in Nico, Timo, Jesper, Luke. I’m hoping playoff Palat comes back. I know Cotter and Noesen can turn it on and really help. But the rest of our lineup has been really disappointing this year. We really need our guys to step up. Guys like Haula, Glass, Cotter, Noesen, Palat. We need them to step up

I remember 2009. Devils needed 1 win. I was watching the canes broadcast as we only had one option for watching nhl games in Canada and it was the nhl network on bell expressvu. Game 6 was canes network and they were advertising 2nd round tickets and I swear to this day I still think the nhl is rigged. How they asked for pre booking via credit card sounded so suspicious to me. Then the devils lost 2 In a row I was pissed like it was planned.
