Cup final will be Avs vs Lightning. You forgot to mention the Cooper factor. Leafs aren’t beating the Lightning. No one is beating the Lightning……except the Avs in the Cup final.
Leafs v. Kings in the finals. Kings are built to win in the playoffs and will ride their goaltending and D. Kuemper has been fantastic the last few months and has completely stonewalled LV.

I expected Steve to have the Habs take out the Caps but seeing him be (almost) as bullish on the Capitals as I am is very vendicating. The only changes i have is that dallas beats Colorado, Winnipeg beats them and makes it to the cup finals, and the capitals beating the Leafs and making the Finals.
This prediction suggests that the Avs will lose right off the bat, vegas moves on to the cup finals against Toronto. And tor gets swept in a boring anticlimactic fashion as villainous Vegas wins again
The Avs look pretty awesome, no doubt about it. But just imagine if, at or before the trade deadline, Coyle had come to the Leafs instead of the Avs: what then? Fantasy, I know, but would that have altered the balance sufficiently to change this prediction?

RE: WSH vs MTL. Much respect to the great Ape, but 19 year old Ivan Demidov is here now and he scored a goal and an assist in his first hour of NHL play. Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Juraj Slafkovsky are going to show the NHL that they are now the best line in hockey. It will take a miracle for the team which finished with the most points in the conference in the regular season to win this series.

Why is it that states without winter and ice overrepresent finals hockey. Dallas won't win. Yes, they are in a winter less iceless state, but it's a liberal county, and all that breeds is losers. Florida vs Tampa should be a finals game. Minnesota will never win. It's the Reagan curse. The only state to vote against Reagan has never won again at championship level. NHL, NBA, NFL, NBL.
