As a Dallas anything fan, my constant sickness about the Luka trade is nearly matched by my nausea, living as I do now in North Carolina, resulting from the Necas trade for Rantanen, neither of whom the Canes now have. Sorry, bunch of mixed references, but it makes sense to me, ha! Necas is very, very talented. Avs fans can attest to that and Dallas will see what he brings in this series.
About Lehkonen's goal…
I think the "kicking rule" is badly written. I'm sure the spirit of the rule is that the "distinct kicking motion" is not to be INTENTIONAL. If that is the case, the rule book should be corrected as such.
Technically, that's as clear as a kicking motion can be. But obviously the intention of the rule was not to disallow goals like this, but to disencourage players from kicking the puck.
Technically, according to the rules as they are written, the goal should be disallowed. But everyone knows it's a good goal.
I hope the NHL adjust the rules before there's a new "Brett Hull goal" that decides the Cup and causes a generation of trauma.

Sharks fan here, Blackwood was a beast with the worst team in front of him, he will be unstoppable in Colorado . I’m pulling for the Avs, until the Sharks are in the playoffs again.
To be fair, the score doesn't tell the story. The Stars outplayed Col. All night and couldn't catch a break.

According to the Deserve-to-Win-O-Meter, Dallas deserved to win this game. Last season, 11 out of 15 series were won by the team that was deemed to deserve it most.
The first 3 goals in this game were strange/flukey. I think these two teams are much closer than the 5-1 scores would indicate. I predict a closer game in Game #2 with The Stars winning and evening up the series
