  1. Scottie Bowman always said that you want your Special Teams to be 100% combined (ex. 25% PP + 75% PK). With our PP this year it should have been cake to get that metric.

  2. Rasmussen has been useless his entire career. Year after year he never bothers to try and get stronger, faster, or just plain better. So tired of him on this team.

He’s a net front guy, and never bothers to get stronger by putting on size. (makes him better net front).

Cat, Kane, and Cat were absolutely outstanding. Especially Cat…. very promising after the season he just had. Kaner will stay with his friend too and help Kasper continue to develop.

  3. either get Marner or make a difference making trade were no one is safe. MO is good BUT absolutely overrated but not everyone knows it. So trading MO would give the Red Wing something significant back.

  4. I still cant believe trading Walman and attaching a 2nd, and hockey fans thinking that was horrible, but ok lets give the benefit of the doubt maybe NHL GMs dont value him, and then what 7 months later hes traded for a 1st, that's such a rough look

  5. 41:40 I'm sorry but are breakouts and entries only considered defensive? Until offensive zone entry was made, there were so many takeaways against him. I would've asked for more of those to go well.

  6. Casting dispersions on +/- and then "oh, look at [Kasper's] defensive analytics." +/- has its warts. Absolutely. But he's one of only three players on the team with a positive +/- of those that played the vast majority of the games (Edvinsson and Copp being the others). It's a good stat as a team relative stat.

  7. Lalonde was on the Sportsnet broadcast panel and it’s still painful to listen to him saying the same things. Talking zone time etc and how good Ottawa was in a 6-2 loss. 😂 I’m still baffled how Yzerman ever listened to him for more than 5 minutes and thought this is our guy.

  8. 1:48:13 Watson kinda screwed himself, though. He's been so consequential to the Griffins that I'm not sure how you take him away for a 12-14 spot roll. His work with Soderblom. His offense. He's just far more valuable in Grand Rapids.

  9. Tarasenko did not offset the loss of perron. Berggren did not offset the loss of sprong. Gustafson did not offset the loss of ghost. Add to that the fact that compher and even Larkin regressed

  10. Honestly I think the line of ras Soderblom and berggren/ tarasenko was good. They had to adjust it after copp went down. But if they can keep Soderblom and ras together it is a fine 3rd line. I think having Holl/ petry/ gus on the team is why the team failed. And damn did edvisson and seider take the defensive load. Chariot did ok. Not on first line but ok. Johannson saved that bottom 4. Not perfect at all but outshined Gus and Holl and petry.

  11. The fact you won’t delete comments making gross and speculative comments about players’ personal lives but WILL delete my comment pointing that out really drives home how lame the show is.

  12. Clarification Brad. It's not your decision-making that is faltering, its the body's delayed reaction to the brain's decision-making. (I only know this because its been a thing with me for 20 years now LOL).

  13. Guys….the FA additions have been abysmal. Period. The problem is talent. 6 years. Yzerman is the problem. Just stop dancing around it. Say it.

  14. Faulting the team for not having good enough personnel outside the top 6 and 2 defenders then complaining that the captain said "It would've been nice to get some help". Is such a trash take. Like you're mad the captain agrees with you?

  15. What Yzerman needs to do: get Marner. Dump Holl by any means necessary. Trade away Ras, Gus, Senko, Chariot, Petry for whatever he can get for them that isn’t “future considerations.” Resign Kane.

What Yzerman will do: resign all names above to multi-year multi-million dollar contracts. Pass on Marner. Trade away Kane for future considerations, sign another bottom tier goaltender.

  16. People who sell seider short because of point totals compared to Hughes or makar go check out the hits and blocks of those players. Sieder doubles those numbers consistently. Points are important but seider is getting enough points when considering his def metrics.

  17. Biggest question for me is, that maybe we are close to a playoff spot contender, but I don't think we are close to an actual contender and I'm really struggling with that
