The fact he guy wasn't traded at the deadline is unreal.
What were you expecting to get for him? He didn’t have a good year, wasn’t horrible but wasn’t good either.
Lyon carried our asses at points, definately a great backup for the contract he had, I hope he finds a good team
Wings deciding to get rid of Lyon at 900k and keep Mrazek at 4.25 mil is why this franchise is gonna make it 10 years without a playoff appearance
Paying more for an eqivilent goalie makes no sense.
I was so hopeful for him.
Does anyone in reality see Mrazek being 5x more effective for the value than Lyon? Hell even 2x over Talbot? Also Lalonde tried to play Husso off the rip which was pretty dumb and points that couldve added up at the end.
So stupid
Did the Wings always kinda know he was gonna leave? They traded for Mrazek but didn't really use him at all. He got like what 2-3 games?
Lyon leaving doesn’t hurt the team. But he isn’t worse than Mrazek. It’s about even. Lyon will get a raise but not by 5x. I don’t think it will overall hurt too much. Probably a loss of about 2.5k cap space tho
Aggressively mid goalie, see ya pal
Mrazek is a streaky but competitive dude but I was blown away that he was brought in with a year left at $4.5m. another bad contract overall. I wonder wtf the plan is for Cossa. I liked Lyon too bad he had sub NHL dmen in front of him lots of the time
We have cossa and Augustine waiting in the wings, we’ll be allright, mrazek will be a good mentor for them if he resigns with us, which is 50/50 at this point in time, he was great in his two starts back with us… i dont know why everyone hates on having mrazek back, we can afford it, we’re still working out the kinks on this team, things will fall into place, its just a matter of time.
It’s kind of a bummer because he had period over the past two seasons where he was legitimately good. With a consistently good defense in front of him of him, he could be really good. I will always appreciate his time in Detroit, and will miss his intentionally awkward interviews.
