Boyle understood the assignment
Awesome video guys! It's not going to matter who you put in there as a coach as long as you have baby sensitive players being offended by everything. You're professional athletes, grow up! The core of the team did the same thing to Galant!
Mollie you're a good sportswriter, but you gotta lose the constant laughing. Makes you look like a girl from high school and diminishes your credibility.
Though that 57 minutes, i'm watched 56 ads. U r greedy fucks
Chris Drury is 100% accountable. It is his team and butno mention of him
Thinking about NTCs and NMCs, while yes they are a contract agreed upon by both parties, there are responsibilities that comes with it like Boyle said. I was never really a fan of these types of contracts except for maybe a select few players in the league.
That comparison to SJS was brutal, I'm glad that got walked back quickly. They have Wennberg as their 2C and Liligren as their 1RD for crying out loud! Overall, good season of the podcasts; my first time listening. Thank you and look forward to keeping it up next year!
U think Quinville is goin to want to come to this s”ithole wen he knos he will be gone in 2 yrs if he even has 1 slip up?
3 Coaches in 5 years means no coaching change will do anything long term. The dead weight on the roster has to be moved. And the pieces that can't be moved need to ride the pine till they request a trade. Drury is bulletproof, so use that to make players very uncomfortable. Mika was traded for a much less talented player with a much shorter time left in his playing time. Why would any GM make that trade? Maybe they realized early on that Mika wasn't committed to hockey. I said this when I saw him play his 1st year. There is no heart in him and his whining in this year's exit interviews was just the final straw. Time to move on. Make him sit till he wants out. But knowing him, Mika will revel in sitting and then will need to be bought out.
If Kreider goes and Zibby stays I would bet money Mika is going to be moping around all season.
Nothing falls in panarin lap?
Are you serious.
Hard to disagree with much of anything said. Biggest takeaway: bring in some alphas to the room. Just a sensitive and entitled group.
It's frustrating as hell because the rangers were in the Eastern conference finals last year against Florida up to games to one game four at Florida in overtime if the rangers score they're up three games to one likely win that series and quite possibly win the Stanley cup because they had a much better goaltender than Edmonton's goaltender. That's how thin the fine line is between winning and losing. Peter laviolette could have been a hero but in the clutch last year against the Panthers the rangers folded and lost three straight and that ain't on the coach. This year was a big disappointment obviously.
The ratings are going to suffer for the NHL without New York without Boston without Chicago and without Detroit. That's brutal.
Just For The Record:
We all know who did NOT turtle and lay down, when the going got rough…
Carrick
Cuylle
Brodzinsky
Edstrom
Rempe
Borgen
…and Trochek ( who in my opinion has been over-used and misused: too many roles, way too much ice time for him to be fresh for down the stretch and post-season).
Thank you for this episode. I was ( not so) patiently waiting for you folks, LoL
Yep, he was "stubborn". Square pegging that round hole and expecting different results, over and over. Even something as simple as swapping PP1 and PP2s minutes would have shown a bit of effort on his part to inspire change, but no. He has coaching psychosis. I hope he never ruins another locker room again.
Good podcast have a great summer guys
Also, we need a GM who can build a 25 man roster to have legit playoff depth when injuries strike. Guys insisting on playing on broken legs instead of allowing healthy skaters have cost this team every playoff run since 2012.
Talent gets you far in sports but a player is REALLY tested when they face adversity . Things will not always go your way but how you handle that mishap , the bad call , the puck that deflects off your d-mans skate going into your net , a poor pass , a missed defensive assignment ,etc … How do you respond ? Its takes heart and determination and the will to battle back .
This team quit in the Devils series under GG ..up two games to none – winning both on the road in Jersey and faced with a Devils team fighting back in game three ….. the Rangers quit skating and competing and we all know the rest .
Last year at times TERRIBLY outplayed vs Carolina – Igor saved the series long enough for Kreider to have the game of his career . Then a humiliated series vs Florida ..
Wait a minute weren't the Rangers up 2 games to none in the Tampa series in Gallants first year before the Rangers caved in ????
There were warnings my fellow Ranger fans long , long before this season began ..
Great episode. Spot on with a lot of things we’ve been saying all season that’s wrong with this group.
Drury: “It starts with me.” Fires everyone else & then Dolan gives him a multi year extension? Totally dysfunctional.
soft, soft weak
Like to see Brian on the Staff …..
Thanks so much to the 3 of you for what you do. I really enjoyed each of your podcasts this year for the honesty and insight you all provided. I'm a Ranger fan since the early 60's so my feelings about this year was nothing new. I'm actually kind of glad they didn't make a last ditch effort this year because we all knew it would have been embarrassing. I'm happier they'll have the summer off to get their A$$es wired back up right for next year.. I'm sure there's other that probably feel the same way. It will be much more fun watching the "NJ Gerbils do their 1 and done" for the next week or so.
The Boyle Callahan McDonagh Girardi teams were so tough to play against. This team was the complete opposite. They are a middle road talented team, slow small, and no desire
3 words to describe Ranger's season: Rangers rebound relinquished
Great podcast yall, absolutely enjoyed all the episodes
The players were very disappointed to see their coach go.
