Sad thing about the hits from Mikkola and Ekblad is this isn't the only series getting out of hand. This year the playoffs are brutal everywhere. Refs really need to get control of these games. I hope everyone is ok. Real tough way to lose a game tonight. Vasy didn't even play poorly, just a couple bounces is the difference sometimes.
Mikko and Ekblad, wtf. you trying to make the Panthers lose? reckless. infuriating when they do dumb shit. still remember Bennet's dumb ass penalty way back when Lightning won the series 4-2. Panthers had the lead and Bennet's dumb penalty gave the Lightning the power play and subsequent goal.

I don't think Hagel returned to the game so Ekblad 100% getting suspended. Unfortunately NHL is too results based in how they do their suspensions.
Mikkola may get suspended since he waa thrown out but I am not 100% certain on that one like I am on Ekblad.
Panthers definitely got puck luck on the 3rd goal.

Disagree on the high hit. Even on your replay, it CLEARLY shows Ekblad's glove on Hagels shoulder, with Ekblad's arm slanting DOWN at a 45% angle onto Hagel's chest at 05:06
His head didn't even snap back. A dead giveaway that it wasn't the point of contact. He got up wobbly because of the hit he took from the ice when he went down.
Mikkola's is dead to rights, dumb play on a defenseless player.
Draisaitl hit Barkov the same exact way last year in the finals and didn’t get suspended…. Just throwing that out there so don’t be shocked if ekblad isn’t suspended

Panthers really like to push the line and see what they can get away with. It just so happens this year the refs decided they didn't really care. I'm disappointed nobody on Tampa returned the favor from that Tkachuk hit on Guentzel. The league made it abundantly clear, if you're losing a game and you want to go out with the intent to injure you won't be suspended. Well so long as your name's Tkachuk its not a suspension. It needs to be mentioned as well, the guy who won the game for them was Ekblad. The guy who should have been taken out of the game.

You were absolutely right. That was one hell of a hockey game. Playoff hockey at his finest. This series very well may end 4-1…..but that wouldn’t be indicative of how close these teams are. To me? This is the two best teams in the Eastern conference.
The worst part about the officiating in these playoffs is the lack of consistency. If you are gonna let bad hits go unpunished, that’s fine. But do that across the board.

Cats fan here. That hurts boys, it’s been a crazy good series. Ekblad and Mikkola hits were unnecessary. It pissed me off because they should’ve given you guys a power-play…. I was surprised when they didn’t give you guys one.
Our forwards are always positioned so well defensively , even if you guys get offensive zone time, we don’t cough at many chances. I can understand how annoying that would be as a Tampa Bay fan lol
Day 1 Panthers fan here: Shit’s rough dude. We’ve all had our teams been on the rough side of playoff games. Can’t count the amount of times crazy endings have led to the Bolts, Bruins, (fuck the Leafs), etc. epic end of game comebacks. The injuries and shitty hits suck.

So I have to say, as a panthers fan, I could easily say “ it was a bad 11 seconds of hockey for the panthers” because other than those 11 seconds the panthers played amazing, so I wouldn’t say unlucky for the bolts when the panthers get those bad 11 seconds back the exact same way. None the less, I appreciate your candidness, and honesty, keep it up bud, and I truly believe these are the two best teams in hockey at the moment, and it’s a shame this isn’t the ECF. They need to go back to 1-8 or have it where division winners play wild card teams and then seed it
