Allvin chose sweden, destroyed canucks for a arrogant broken swede kid we should of never signed. One bad move tanked this team for another decade, fire allvin tell rutherford to find another mentor.
If this is true, I agree with Tocchet's assessment of EP40- he does not have the maturity, character, or physical perseverance to ever lead this team to a Stanley Cup. Tocchet has won Stanley Cups as a player and an assistant coach of the Penguins, so he knows what it takes to get there.
Expecting Rick Tocchet to re-sign as coach of the Canucks was like expecting him to re-sign as Captain of the Titanic. Tocchet's not dumb- he could see the writing is on the wall for the Canuck franchise as it is highly unlikely they will be able to keep Hughes as well.
Time to end the relentless drama and sign both coaches and players who have a high hockey IQ, a "dirty workboots" work ethic, an understanding that creative offense has to be carefully balanced with a commitment to team defense, and share the Canuck fan passion/pride to relentlessly pursue a Stanley Cup. No more Primadonnas, as this is the drama that results. No player, or coach for that matter, is bigger than the TEAM they play for!
Good thing he did not get rid of Petey. Zadorov,Polkolzin and Kuzmenko was enough. Jeremy Colliton with Bieksa and twins would do better job. Manny is doing good job in ABBY in two years we could have that big cup.
Aqulini loves weak players. Hence, why he kept ep40 over miller.
Players who have to be reminded to move their feet are not players you can win with.
Serves Aquaman right, now he can payout almost 2 Mil a month to that wuss ep40
People in the comments do yall just hate Swedes or what
seems that Peteys decline was caused by Tocchet. Good riddance.
Is it possible that Petey caught wind of this, started having self doubts, which then caused him to stop playing?
Maybe this is all Tocchet’s fault.
A collapse,a disaster, and a message from tocchets departure indicates that ep40 trade was over ruled by the owner who is so cheap he couldn't sleep at nite knowing he'd be loosing huge money on a dud that's yet to take shape sooner or later after tocchett departure. The mind set is going to set this club in the basement till the owner wakes up.
Can we fire the owner?
Tocchet only loves to use big, tough players like joshua, Miller or Zadorov, and doesn't like a skillful forward like EP, AK96 and Mikheyev, so that's why we can not score a goal.
Maybe it's a good idea to let him go 😅
Traded the wrong guy, easy as that
What coach would tell management how to do their jobs? The coach is not the GM. And the owner "demanded" they keep a& sign him? He's the owner and doesn't have to demand anything and can just say yes or no. LOL. And why would anyone want to trade a 100 point player. Ok, he has a poor work ethic but still got 100 points? Most teams would still take that. Owner, management and coach are the problem.
Cant wait to come back in 2027 in say "Tocch told you guys"
Absolute rock bottom. In previous rock bottoms, we still had a young EP40 or a young Hughes to look forward to. Now we are at rock bottom, and we can't even sign our top prospect Willander because of $200k. And TBH, while Willander is a very solid player, he won't be as franchise changing as a top functioning EP40 and a Hughes can be. And once Hughes is gone, what do we got?
Make sense to me!
I don't blame Tocchet. He knew EP40 was a clown and had to watch management choose him over a consistent Miller. I still don't understand why so many Van fans hitch their wagons to this guy. He had 1.5 good seasons, no work ethic, and makes 3x what he's clearly worth.
No wonder Petey didn’t want to play for Tocchet. You could tell coach not a fan of offensive players who plays different than him. Kuzmenko everyone? Good riddance if that is the case. Doesn’t know how to work with talents in front of him.
If I was a betting man, I would bet. Talk it end up in New York. I bet that the Rangers signed are and quite possibly shooter as well. Oh yeah, and Footer will follow…🤬 they so traded the wrong guy!

good for you tocket! i wood hv done same thing and Ep is a looser since getting a new contract! pretty boy piece of s….ht
get rid of managment! usless garbage just like ep!
Ep is a looser! since new contract! always will be
I hope that they didn't turn down Nacas
Knew it. Agreed with what you said. Told'ya Canucks traded the wrong guy. It's simply EP40's work ethics. Yup. Tocchet's seen enough of EP40 and doesn't want to deal with him anymore. He's just not a pro, period. EP40 played enough to get a long term contract and stopped working. Now the entire world knows about EP40's work ethics, Canucks is stuck with him forever. Will not be surprised that Hugh wants out , too.
Well management got the players he wanted and got rid of alot players he didnt like and now he just leaves. Tocchet wasnt even in league before canucks called him up. Dude knows he not good coach just wanted to leave before people figure it out.
I believe it! Rick Toccete was a hard hitting, hard working player with a great nose for the net. Very much like J.T. Miller. Why would he ever want to get rid of Miller ( a player with similar work ethic and values). TheMiller deal was all ownership and didn't include Toccete in the final trade decision. It was very obvious to me. This is why the Cunacks will have trouble keeping Quinn Hughes. The writing is on the wall. There goes any hope for a Stanley Cup anytime in the near future.
Tocchet should be fired, Vancouver hasn't performed. EP40 is a scorer not a screen, so why did Tocchet place him as a screen all season? Forza Vancouver!
Tocchet ruined EP’s career by getting rid of Kuzmenko. He ruined the team. Garbage coach.
lol that's some stupid 🧢 no way he wanted petey gone. esp with how the canucks performed last year.
You nailed it!
So how much longer till garland and the rest of the coaching team follow the coach. And a good guess is Hughes will be joining the devils now
You know tocchet was hurting when he had to confirm Jt was traded. I knew he right away he preferred Petey gone over miller. To be honest so did I. But man when the management goes against the coach and trades away the other guy then you know this relationship is over. But it make u wonder tho. The management really chose Petey over miller and tocchet and the rest of the coaching staff cuz you know they are gone too. Alvin this just dug your grave buddy.
Please stop guessing, who cares. Rick is not the guaranteed cup.if he were staying,he wouldn't last for full year.
I believe it… and I wish both management & Tocchet had all told Aqualini to pound sand.. either they allow them to move on from Petey or they all quit.
Your channel has no credibility just get another hobby kid
No. You cannot have Shane Wright for Elias Pettersson.
Petey will be exactly what Tocchet supposedly said! AND, the Owners always meddle and that is also the reason why this team will NEVER win a CUP. More drama! You asked the question and I totally believe it to be 100 percent true.
I’ve long concluded the EP40 is not the player to take us to the Cup. His lack of leadership and more importantly desire to win/work ethic (and merely cash his big checks) is so evident by those on the inside the organization.
Think I played Dr dangles in chel lol
45pts playing on the top line and pp1…arguably the worst player on the team since last years all star break. He was by far the worst player in the playoffs. After the drama this season I was hoping both JT and Petey were traded just for a fresh start for everyone. If we get stuck with Petey after July it probably won’t end well. His end of year presser was bad and seemed to be the exact same guy that doesn’t care and is collecting his millions and that’s that. We went from a young and upcoming team to a complete disaster and a lot of that centres around Petey. He’s a cancer.
Traded the wrong guy…….
This Canucks team this season was broken even before Tocchet had chosen to leave as head coach. The future of the team looks quite murky, even with stud defenceman Quinn Hughes signed to a contract that doesn’t expire until June 2027.
EP40 has to go. Guy is becoming an absolute problem in the locker room.
