He literally dribbled Panarin's head on the ice like a basketball. Kind of a joke to say he's not a goon and also complain about the Chatfield toss, which was nowhere near as bad and had an entire out of control game beforehand because Tom Wilson lost his temper.
Not that regular season matters in playoffs really at all but both Carolina wins came when Washington was on the 2nd game of back to back so it might seem more even than it is really from just a gambling perspective that is
the whole "Canes the betting favorite" thing is a dumb canard…always has been – that's all analytics driven without much thought about some nuances of the particular match ups. For example, they were faves against Florida couple years ago mostly due to the disparity in "quality chances" and so on. Well, when Bobrovsky is playing lights out, as he was, there ARE no "quality chances." And when Barkov and Bennett are on fire, they are going to improve their shooting percentage way over the analytic measures. …..etc.

The judo toss was definitely intentional. Weak move, but he stepped up and got pummeled the next game. Playoff series already have plenty of juice, don’t need to make that a storyline. Go Caps, this is gonna be a fun one
