If this video gets 3,000 likes we'll head back to Winnipeg for some playoff whiteout redemption!
The Top Draft Picks are so happy that Winnipeg is a good team
They're not an expansion team. Seattle and Vegas were expansion teams. But there is an underlying issue with the economy in Canada right now. Their cost of living is skyrocketing in the eastern provinces and Ontario along with Quebec contains 70 percent of the country's populace.
Alberta and Saskatchewan get taxed at a higher rate and the government is undercutting their greatest exports. Why would players want to pay higher tax rates and live in that cold barren land when they can pay lower to much lower taxes in places like Texas, or Florida. Much better weather and no State taxes at all. The percentage of
American born players is catching up quickly and if you look at juniors you can see the talent. It's going to be even harder to convince those guys to play up in a place like Winnipeg, Calgary or Edmonton. They don't want to play in Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa either. That's why Matthew Tkachuk wanted to go to Florida.
The Canadian dollar is at about 70 cents to the American dollar right now. But hockey is the top sport in Canada. In America it's college football and the NFL. In Europe and most other places it's Futball. In Australia it's Rugby.
its way to expensive in Winnipeg and yeah our springs are usually cold. i want to go to a jets game one day but living up north is to far to travel most of the fans are up north
im subbing you got urself a new fan.
Should just move back to Atlanta!!!
Aw man you can’t drop a video about the Jets during playoffs but diss the atmosphere cause you went to a game at the end of the regular season.. should have went to a whiteout game!! And if it was too expensive then you answered your question as to why there wasn’t many people at these games. People save up for playoffs cause it’s not cheap to go to games often
I know that you’re not hating on the jets but I just have some personal insight for you guys. Winnipeg is the smallest NHL market so sometimes there is not the greatest attendance but the final 13 home games this year were listed as sellouts btw. Also Gary betman said he wasn’t worried at all about the Jets and that Mark Chipman thing was two years ago and has become sort of irrelevant. Another thing is there is no shortage of charity work being done by jets players, maybe you don’t see the same things I do, but the stuff they do is put all over their social media. players also come to Winnipeg thinking there not going to stay, but recently there have been instances where players end up enjoying the city and staying ex hellebyck, niederreier, namestnikov and more. you guys saying that the fan atmosphere wasn’t good surprised me a little the team might not have the most fans, but they sure have passionate fans and every game I go to I find there
to be quite a good atmosphere.
Thanks fellas
I mean it’s because Winnipeg has less people and a lots of people don’t care I am from Winnipeg and I used to be the jets fun
No shot about this being fair.
The ownership group have also invested heavily in the area surrounding the area, over a billion dollars in real estate developments, they just bought city place mall and are starting to build a hotel next door to the arena, the team is a huge draw for the downtown area and the cornerstone for all their developments they will take a loss on the team to support their other investments
It’s this kid talking about how they should go back to Atlanta YOUR AN IDIOT YOU SHOULD GO TELL TO CALGARY OR OILERS THEY ARE IN CRISIS TO DO BETTER KID
Winnipeg blows homie😭 moved here (not by choice) from Toronto and it’s so boring. Might as well move to Fargo .
Will you guys be doing the other four Canadian teams next season?
Quebec City would be a better market
Might need to do the whiteout now could be the last game of the year
I once flew in to see the Jets play the Leafs and was surprised to find good seats available at base price on Ticketmaster. What other market would that be possible? I wish them all the best and hope sustained winning can help the franchise.
Pizza Pizza is less of a Canadian staple than it is imported Toronto garbage.
Bring the jets to Milwaukee the mil would love a Nhl team
Pizza pizza is terrible, teens like it but it's too expensive for what you get
Yall gotta go to a Dallas Stars game, almost every game is a near 90% sellout if not sold out
I feel like this review wasn't very fair. Our attendance this season actually has gone up dramatically, you just went to a game where they are playing a bottom 5 team on a Sunday afternoon. Does Winnipeg have it's problems… Sure. But I can say very confidently that the Winnipeg Jets will be going no where anytime soon in our lifetimes. True North didn't bring the team back to Winnipeg because they wanted an NHL team, they wanted control of Winnipeg's downtown core, they are achieving this by building the True North Square, they recently got the rights to the mall y'all were in Portage Place and are planning condos/ office space, and they have big plans for a more connected downtown (those skywalks you walked through to get from Shark Club to the arena will be scattered across buildings further downtown)
Also we have the richest owner in the NHL David Thompson who is worth $70 billion (he's the richest in Canada, and the 22nd richest person in the entire world). Literally if any losses occur with the Jets (which never happens) that is just lowering the overall tax he has to pay so it's not really an issue whats so ever.
If your open for a guide to Winnipeg hit up my Business email I would be happy to show you what Winnipeg is all about, because downtown where yall were is not even scratching the surface of what the city has to offer.
Whether you realize it or not this is a completely embarrassing video to make. Saying the jets have the 32nd best fans and acting like the teams going thru some crisis or has literally ANY chance of relocation is just pathetic. Quit trying to make a story when there isn’t one
They should play like 5 home games in Regina Saskatchewan and maybe another 5 in Saskatoon each year.
it’s time to come back to atlanta. specifically alpharetta, ga. absolutely loaded city with rich middle age transplants, massive population, tons of fun shit to do.
Yea its unfortunate. The whole 'it's Winnipeg' thing I think comes down to the locals acceptance that Winnipeg is one of those Canadian cities that just kind of gets by. The population is still under a million, its in the middle of nowhere and extremely cold even for Canadian standards, and it just doesnt scream anything. And I guess all this has filtered down to their Hockey team. Hope it changes.
Keep voting liberal you fools…. The team will move.
Now watch game 7 against the blues and if we win visit enterprise cwntsr
Get this video to 3,000 likes so he can go to the game 7 if this video gets 3,000 before game 7
I would honestly go back and try it again. When I visited, I enjoyed the Jets Dog, and the arena really gets rocking when they are winning. The whiteout is awesome, but as a separate experience altogether
Atmosphere changes depending on the team they are playing. Rival teams are louder for sure. Winnipeg love the jets.
buddy guy gets pizza pizza and says the food sucks lmao get a jet dog
also no TRUE NORTH during the anthem?
It’s a have not Province and a have Not City
Subbed for the hockey content !! Keep it up:)
You should go to a Purdue IU game next season
Garry Betman came up to Winnipeg last year and looked at are books, and said nothing was wrong. Garry Betman is the issue, North American sports aren't about sports anymore they are about making a business. we have so much to learn from Europe on how they run sports
You want an amazing sports atmosphere, nothing compares to Europe. Go to a basketball game in Serbia or Greece. Go to a Dortmund game in the German Football League, meaning soccer, Liverpool, there is not rivalry in the World more fierce than Glasgow Rangers versus Glasgow Celtic in Soccer. Basketball fans are close too in the World, another one is to go see true Fans, West Ham, or a Millwall game. You go to Europe and watch any of these teams it puts to shame 100% of all North American sports stadiums, only one a bit close is the Portland Timbers
It’s a mix of the location of the arena, the crime rate of the city and the economy add those all up it’s a recipe for low attendance
The Canes rink is normally open 1.5 to 2 hrs early but i have seen it as close as 45min i assume for staffing reasons.
Winnipeg is a dump, broke and dirty.
Hellebyuck for MVP
20 seconds in and already inaccuracies lol. Expansion team???
