  1. No no no no no. You guys with all your infinite hockey wisdom all picked the kings. Now 2 of the 3 of you are picking the Oilers? You are doing us dirty! Take it back!

  2. As an Oilers fan, I WISH I could see this series as just super fun hockey to watch and not something that is probably going to be ACTIVELY TRYING TO STOP MY HEART.

  3. I can't stand how hockey has imported all these basketball terms – as if hockey isn't a valid sport, with its own terminology – dish, post, look… so absurd.

  4. Interesting takes. So Vegas is more balanced because they had 12 different goal scorers in the series. Guess what: Edmonton had 13 different goalscorers in their series.

Defence: EDM gave up 64 high danger chances in the series, Vegas gave up 67. Offense: Edmonton created 105 high danger chances vs. the best defense of the regular season, Vegas created 70.

Regular season: EDM had the 2nd fewest expected goals against, Vegas the 6th fewest. Edmontons Defence gets overshadowed by lackluster goaltending.

It will be a series that can go either way. But I would wish that these media people would look into the actual stats. They have MacBooks on the table. Half of what was said here in the podcast is at best a wrong perception

  5. as much as Jesse thinks the offense is closer than people think. the oilers defense is closer than people think. oilers in 6.

  6. Edmonton has 2 of the top 6 Playoff scorers OF ALL TIME. They win with scoring from all lines. Their D can tread water and their goaltending can be sheltered enough. Oilers in 5

  7. All this talk continues around the Oilers "lack of depth." So let's do a comparison from round one:

Oilers forwards not including McDavid/Draisaitl: 36 points in 6 games.

Vegas forwards including ALL forwards: 32 points.

Take out Eichel and Hertl, the top 2 scorers for Vegas, and the Oilers without Draisaitl and McDavid have 36 points to 22 for Vegas.

Vegas has 10 forwards with 2 or more points.
Oilers have 12 forwards with 2 or more points.

Vegas has 5 forwards with 3 or more points.
Oilers have 10 forwards with 3 or more points.

Vegas has 3 players with 4 or more points.
Oilers have 6 players with 4 or more points.

Vegas played against the 15th best defensive team in the league, who was a wildcard team.

Oilers played against the 2nd best defensive team, with a Vezina candidate goalie, and the team was 2nd in the Pacific with 106 points.

The Oilers depth continues to be underestimated, just like it was against Dallas last year.

  8. SDPN never gives Edmonton any chance , any year. But Connor and Leon’s will power cannot be measured with any hockey metric. That X factor is what got them into the finals last year.

  9. This is the best preview I've seen. To me, Vegas wins on paper, but one of the Oilers top strengths in the playoffs has become adapting to teams over the course of a series

  10. All the pro analysts have picked Oilers opponents to win since last year. Every single series. Goaltending, defense are cited everyday.

  11. Something also to mention in terms of the storyline is that last time these teams met, Vegas were the LTIR abusers with Stone and both teams looked fairly even in the regular season, this time the Oilers are the ones who LTIR Kane while still matching up well against Vegas in the season – will it push Oilers over the top of the matchup the way it did for Vegas?

  12. I still remember McJesus getting sheltered minutes against Kalrsson in 23. So we can hype up Edmonton and dick ride their depth, it’s gonna be a hell of a series that’ll go either way. Can’t wait for the games

  13. You guys all left Oilers for dead first round. Kings in 5 or 6 all your picks. They won 3-1 game 5. Thats 1 goal allowed not 3

  14. Haven't watched their leafs preview. But if any of the chose leafs to beat Florida, and yet doubt Oilers over Vegas all credibility is lost.

  15. Petro is the weakest link on Vegas D if you think otherwise just watch he gets beat by speed he gets beat by cycle, he gets the puck on his stick and he does 2 things dumps it or turns it over that’s it he’s the weakest link

  16. Why don't edm fans understand that the stats they are posting are completely empty? The two series are completely different. Its like comparing apples to oranges.

Heres a stat for you thats also pretty useless, Vegas as won 42 consecutive playoff games when they score 3 or more goals.

  17. Las Vegas Golden Knights need a healthy Pavel Dorofeyev there leading goal scorer in the lineup, if they are able to beat the Edmonton Oilers. Vegas will absolutely need to score in bunches to advance to the Western Conference final against a high powered Oiler team with Connor Mcdavid. Go Knights Go😊😊😊😊😊❤

  18. Every single analyst craps on oilers depth. The oilers depth and 4 lines is going to shock the league.

  19. Oilers d are going to be under much more stress than the Kings put the on them. If oilers can manage that they will be fine.

  20. If ever a time to sweep a team SOLELY to watch Jessie admit how bad of an opinion he always has.

  21. We never saw an oiler forward lineup like this all through the season. Kane, Frederic and Arvidson decided to show up and not get injured (Lol). When all the players are working, and they get reasonable goaltending they are formidable.

  22. I thought Bouchard would sign for 7.5 Million but watching him in playoffs, 10 Million and leading in Goals. Oilers are so deep, they can score 4 goals in a period, no defence can shut down the offensive powerhouse of the Oilers. Oilers winning cup they are too deep but if Dallas gets Robertson and Heiskanen back they will be Awesome with Rantanen. Colarado got beat by Dallas without 2 of the best players missing.

  23. I don't actually think this will be a long series. Edmonton has higher end forward play, a better blue line, and a hotter goaltender than Vegas. Only Dallas and Florida can truly expose Edmonton's pedestrian goaltending.

  24. No the team with the two best players in the world a walman who has the most blocked shots almost and a plus 8 a scary getting better every minute of the day Trent Fredrick a finally healthy Kane.. I love these sub par takes.. o there’s no ekholm.. we have John klingburg Bret kulak nurse Walman a Dec ty and a Dec Strecher. O we also have the best offensive d man in the world atm and picks had a better save percentage in most games than kemper a vesnia trophy finalist

  25. Also less we forget the king were the best defensive team over all in the nhl and had the best home wins of any team. I think the kings could beat the not the same as two years ago Vegas betman knights
