this team is so far from winning a Cup right now. As long as guys like Kreider and Mika are taking up key ice time from the players who are going to carry the team forward there won't be any growth. Trading away kids under the age of 25 is counter productive. Give K'Andre another season and see if he can be brought back onto the path. Let Braidne Schenider get surgery if he needs it, but let that kid heal. LEtting him play with a compromised shoulder is criminal. His issues are coachable and teachable. Othmann, Berard, Cuylle and Perrault could become the engine room for a productive middle 6. Carrick, Erdstrom and Rempe are a fine 4th line. We will be stuck with JT Miller, Trochek and Laf and Panarin which means moving off from Mika and Kreider.
Laffy is not getting traded. And I guarantee he has Awesome season under Sullivan. We know he is a playoff performer from last season he was great. I really think these disgruntled Vets have rubbed off on him. CK needs to go as does Mika, and I really think Mika will be a Locke room cancer just from his parting comments
Miller has to go. We can’t afford his lazy terrible hockey play.
The Rangers need a reset not a rebuild. No doubt personnel moves are required & it seems there are far too many players on the roster. A crucial aspect of the reset will be the coaching system installed by Sullivan. Both the offensive & defensive systems were dysfunctional & led to "confusion" on the ice. This team is capable of rebounding to a much higher level next season as there is a lot of talent there.
There are only two players I would even consider trading Laffy for – Brady Tkachuk (ain't happening) and Quinn Hughes. I would rather keep him AND get Hughes. Laffy hasn't shown it yet, but I have a strong feeling Laffy will develop into a player like Brady Tkachuk in the next couple of years. I know everyone is high on Marner, but at $13-14M, I would rather have Hughes at $7.85M on the top line with Fox. K. Miller, Kreider, Berard, Othmann, Jones, Robertson, and picks would all be in play to get Hughes. I wouldn't move Perrault yet – I want to see what he can do. And if Mika wants out, then sure, no problem.
Can't be more insane than that tumble down group therapy they've called a season…. spoil the millionaires and spare the fans
