Anaheim has plenty of talent in and coming over to the team, the concern still is coaching, and that's where my anxieties are stacked on right now.

Honestly as a Ducks fan I am more concerned about the free agency than the NHL draft
The weekend before the draft where Verbeek picked Leo Carlson most conventional wisdom was Verbeek would select Fantilli. There was a hockey show that weekend where they did a live interview with Fantilli and the were asking him what he thought about the Ducks players. Fantilli responded with a sour, lackluster " I mean.. they seem like nice guys" response. It was clear to me at that moment he did not want to go to Anaheim. My theory is he made that abundantly clear to Verbeek and that he would not sign. Hence why I think Verbeek selected Carlson. I'm happy with Carlson even though right now the career stats show Fantilli has a slight edge and they have both played 131 games.. I believe Carlson's potential for improvement is much greater.
He’s going to keep getting away with it until more people wake up, smarten up, and realize these lotteries are rigged beyond belief.
To be honest I don’t care this year, draft class is nothing special. So I’m not opposed trading it if it makes sense

At 10, I'm guessing that Verbeek will take best available… whether that's trading the pick for a prospect and a lower pick, or simply the best player available.

We can trade the 10th overall to Pittsburgh and get Rickard Rakell back a 70 point winger and rutger mcgordy. Him and Cutter are close friends. I know its not the best trade and we probably could get way more for the 10th overall than that but a 35 goal winger is what we can use haha but honestly whoever we draft should be fine. This isn't the most exciting draft class and based on the last couple drafts and the prospects we have gotten I think we'll be good

It does not matter if we pick 8th or 10th, Verbeek's first picks are usually reaches anyway – we did not need 3rd overall to pick Sennecke, Carlsson was also not projected 2nd etc. The principle of this lottery is much more frustrating and more so with us falling down almost every year including Bedard draft.

As a Preds fan, I am so pissed! This is our worst season ever and we finished as the 3rd worst team in the NHL. But yet, we dropped to the 5th spot. I mean, why on Earth would the Preds ever be allowed to pick in the top 3, right? So pissed!

North American sports fans deride European football leagues for having promotion & relegation, but 1 thing we most certainly don't have is an arbitrary way of picking teams to reward them! Since the Flames didn't win the lottery, and lost their 16th pick to the Canadians due to a trade, I hope you get this guy. He reminds me of a taller early nineties Michael Nylander, smooth skater, hopefully can keep it up when the close checking happens.

Abolish the draft lottery
I really don’t care about the draft, I’m just excited about the increase in sports betting.
Gary BETman announced we can now bet on injuries for players, like how long will stolarz be out with concussion, well, the guy who hit Johnny be guilty or innocent, things like that.

He also said that next year they’re going to change the name of the league from the NHL to the national sports betting league.

Imagine in the NFL if the Super Bowl winner was able to land a top 10 pick because of a lottery, people would be livid! To reduce tanking, limit a team to 3 number one picks over a 7-year period. I don't think a franchise or its fan base should be punished for trying to get better talent after a bad season or two.
