Damned if they move the puck around without getting a shot off. Damned if they throw everything they can at the opposition goal and end up with a 20-1 shots to goals ratio. But damn, they are winning games with their “boring”, “ugly” style of play.
i’ve got disagree. the canes win when they play the game they are build to play. the issue wasn’t the number of attempts or where they were taken, the issue was that the best shots they took just missed. our highest danger chances hit posts or narrowly missed the net. don’t change what does work
The good thing about the Hurricanes taking so many shots is that it keeps the puck deep in the opponents zone. What they need is more net-front presence to pick up the rebounds and retrieve the puck for a follow up shot close to the net
You stated that the Canes might need quality shots over quanity. If you look at the power play at the end of the 3rd period, they were looking for quality, and made a lot of passes, and no shots. I think you gotta keep doing what it was that got you there.
