Thank you for this! National media always gives backhanded compliments and even when we win there is a negative spin on it. There is a constant undercutting of the success we have had. Meanwhile sing praises to Toronto who have lost the last 9 Playoffs never making it to ECF! At least the Canes have 2x since 2018. Thanks for speaking to my pet peeve!

It boggles my mind that the Canes go so disrespected. At the end of that game, ray ferraro first started to say the canes stole the game then corrected himself. I like ray, but it's kind of the view all the analysts, studio talent, and announcers have. Any other team would be portrayed as dominating the caps and applauded for shooting so much because "there's no such thing as a bad shot in the playoffs," but the canes? The insinuation is that they are a boring team of not skilled enough players who just bully teams with a forecheck and shoot a lot of average shots until one goes in.
They will never respect us and they will never stop trying to screw us. go back and watch game 7 in 06 they did it then too, we have to rise above it and just win!

I love the canes. They're my team. But whits not wrong. Every team that had won the cup recently has just what whit said. We don't have a Tkachuck, a Mcdavid, a kucherov, a mackinnon. We have a bunch of players that are 8 and 9s, not a 10 or 2, a couple of mid guys, and 2 lower lines that can't play big minutes. Thats one of our strengths, but its also one of our weaknesses. I think you do need a Jordan, a Mahomes, a saquan, a mackinnon to come up big, to have those breaktheough moments. But I also think Tom D is right. If you create a good team that always competes, that consistently is on the edge, eventually you get over the hump.
As for PK, dudes an attention whore. I like him, don't get me wrong, but he's the loudest mout on a panel Mes and Pronger. PK was good, they were amazing. If he could shut up he just might learn something sometimes.
Not respected? Who cares? Underestimated, unexpected. Winning is sweet revenge.
I think hockey fans being data driven and smart is why I trust Tulsky so much even though he's an outsider. He's been dealt a bad hand with the number of free agents that left last off-season but Stanky and Janky have been great fits to the team.
