Guys. First time contacting. Love love love leafs talk!!! I’m a transplant from northern Ontario on San Jose ca. Talking about the first goal against tonight – ESPN crew did a good spot tonight with pk, weekesy and pronger where they show what the goalie sees in that situation – Barlow shoots it directly through tanev’s legs and u can see a thing as a goalie… they brought the camera over and showed the view… good clip and I agreed with Bunks that I also felt that Joe wasn’t completely solid at the beginning of the game, but that goal wasn’t soft… he had a very good game… we r getting a bit spoiled 😬😬 and I don’t want to piss of the hockey gods for being selfish…

I said leafs in 4 right after game 6 of the Senators series. Every said I’m crazy and delusional. It’s not looking so crazy right now.
What is wrong with Auston’s shot?? Historically he barely ever used his slap shot or that half slap shot… when he was really dangerous it was his elite elite elite wrist shop… u know the one… the one that all of the elite prospects r now emulating… i sure hope it can be fixed in the offseason, but Sammy is absolutely bang on… he is elite defensively and that is good enough to win the cup. I think we should all start leading that narrative to support our captain!!! I just don’t get it…

Guys, 34 does not have to provide much offence the way he’s playing is spot on defensively. He will have some big games as they move along. The team actually needs a strong balanced attack and they are getting that in spades so far in this series. The last two games are the best you’ve seen from the Leafs in many many years.
When Max scored the OT winner in the Ottawa Series Tie celebrated like crazy and as a Dad I can’t lie… my eyes might have watered and it made it even more special bc he tries so hard to be stoic and “not that dad” for Max and as the dad that works really really hard at that for his kids… I love it. So he does celebrate, but only the very biggest moments!!! It just makes Tie even cooler, which I didn’t think was really possible

Florida definitely played better in game 2 and looked like the Florida team that you would expect to see in the playoffs. The main problem for Florida right now is Bobrovsky. 9 Goals in two games is just not good enough. I wasn’t a fan of the first goal that Woll let in game 2 but he was pretty solid after that. Toronto is looking amazing. They always have an answer for Florida. It inconceivable to me that Toronto came from behind to win a their 2nd game in a row against Florida in the second round….

Love Nicky Bob but in this series, he is too small to fight for space in front of the net or in the slot. Patches fits well, he is big, hits and can go to the net and will take a defender with him.
Panthers will be fine; Bobrovsky just needs to stop taking playoff pointers from Hellebuyck.

The reason the Lundell line is dominating most of their shifts is because they are usually up against the Domi line. Laughton's line is playing even against Bennett's and Sturm's, Matthew's line is even+ against Barkov's, and Tavares' line is plus against Bennett's and Sturm's.
The least defensively accomplished line the leafs have is the Domi one (Tavares line as a whole is close, but Tavares is good down low and that line's dangerous offensive breakout possibilities limits the freedom of Florida to go all in on the forecheck) so they can forecheck with abandon without much concern which makes them extremely successful. As long as the Lundell line is Florida's best line the Leaf's are doing something right. Barkov, despite the goal has been mostly a non factor, and he has been more noticeable than Reinhart, Tkachuk, Verhaeghe, Bennett, and Rodrigues. Think about that. But don't say anything…shhhhhhh…let sleeping dogs lie.
And Seth Jones has been really good, both offensively and on normal rushes against, although he's starting to look "scared" (hesitating and looking over his shoulder) going back on dump-ins after being nailed numerous times by the leaf forecheckers, and quite often is not making a clean play to relieve the pressure and causing a number of extra Leaf o-zone time and a few scoring chances against.
Matthews is afraid to go to the hard areas. Always just reaching with his stick to steal puck, but will not use his size and strength to physically fight for position.
The take on Matthews by JD is absolutely ridiculous!!!! Matty has absolutely dominated every center he's been going up against so far, he's neutralized Barkov outside of a PP goal that Woll should have had. Seems like he's dealing with something still, remember that he took a shot off his wrist in the Ottawa series. Looks like Matthews has decided he'll chip in when he's able to, but his main objective is to absolutely shut down his defensive assignment. I'm good with the way he's playing, absolutely elite hockey with his linemates doing the scoring. The alternative could be them on the golf course and you not having anything to complain about.
When the Leafs get out of round 2, Mathews will shine. Have faith…..he`ll be there.

I also love the coach…tanev has a brother who played for the Seattle Kraken and then got traded to Winnipeg jets…Tanev brother is one of the fastest skaters and scrappiest players I have ever seen live
To answer your question Rodriquez is a “dive guy” and even before he would get hit, fake an injury and then walk down the tunnel to add to the fake hurt scene on the ice!
