I'm a Panther guy and to admire Bob's play has been unreal although when we acquired him after the trade from Columbus he was awful sitting on his $10M plus contract. Then suddenly he transformed three seasons ago much to my delight and has been the poster child per say. We also gave up Anthony Stolarz which really has left us with a hole for a good backup as Vanacek has not impressed. So just like Hellebuyck who narrowly escaped the playoff gallows just went through let's see which Bob will show up for the series.
What never talked about is how Zito builds his forward core to consist almost entirely of natural centers. Last yr and this yr 10ish of the 12.
A winger who’s a natural center is such an advantage.
Excellent take about how your top core players have to have that tough skill. Tenacious and will imposing but also elite skill.
Can’t shortcut it by having those guys on your bottom lines. Your top players can’t be soft skill.
