I started watching hockey again for the first time in years a few months ago, specifically following the Leafs. I had no idea who anyone was. What stood out to me was that Matthews was a scoring machine. He just put pucks in the net so easily. After the four nations tournament ended, it seemed to me that he just stopped scoring and often seemed really frustrated at some of his own misses. He's great in other ways, but his ability to score goals has almost disappeared.
In fairness… i shouldn't be too mad at you guys for just being radio men. They aren't winning anyway.

Fairly new to following hockey here. At what point is the puc out of play when the goalie is laying on it? Seems you can just dogpile the goalie to hope it dislodges the puc over the red?
I felt like they played well. Got some bad bounces, is what it is. They were battling for their lives. We are the better team ! Relax we have a great chance still

Can we have a Conversation of trading Matthews for Berdard or Mikko Rantanen? This isn't a hate on Matthews but the Leafs needs to look into the future and regarding the salary vs salary cap. The Leafs can't afford to loose their defense players. In addition, if Matthews goes, does Knies stay and continues to play like he does? Or does Knies wants to go with Matthews?
Way too negative imo, speaking like it’s 2-1 Panthers and there were no positives to be drawn. I’ll tune in for the wins I guess. They’ll laud Stolars, Willy and Knies relentlessly, and it’s often warranted, but I think they enjoy ripping on others.

I agree with JD Bunkis. Im not panicking and im not worried. But, tonight's loss was annoying and frustrating. That's a game the Leafs could have won.

There is a video arising of Aaron Ekblad giving an elbow on Joseph Woll in game 2. Why waa there no conversation about it? It seems like Florida is attacking Leaf goals knowing the Leaf's strength is in their top two goalies. The video I've seen is despicable. Reeves should be put in to take out their players.
Even with poor goaltending, the leafs almost pulled off a win.. against a desperate “must win” game for the Cats.

I'm not sure what to think of Matthews…first of all I don't know if he is really battling debilitating injury. The T.O. Media seems to have of laid off him this playoffs…TSN has laid off him. On paper he's not a liability…almost 60% face %…0 PMins…he's in the top 10 in pts so far this playoffs. He seems to be doing a good job defensively…more take aways than give aways…and he's do ok handling Barkov…BUT…he's not doing what he gets paid crap loads to do especially in the post season…something he has mostly failed to do in every previous post season…and He wasn't hurt every post season. When you think of the guys… and I guess I mean the snipers…who score timely goals in the post season. and reasonably often…"historically" you think of the likes of Bossy, Lafleur, Leach, Shutt, Brett Hull, Selanne, Kurri, etc. Matthews has yet to show that ability in post season…Even though both Matthews and Marner have plus numbers in the (+ – ) column and are both in the top 10 in scoring so far…even though Berube seems to be getting more out of them as complete players than previous coaches…there is still (for me) something missing in them both…something off. It feels like it's a character thing. Both Matthews and Marner come across as aloof and disconnected in their post game interviews and in their facial expressions and body language. For me it doesn't look like it really guts them to lose…they enjoy winning but it doesn't "feel" (to me) like it truly guts them to lose as much as other players…and I might be way off base on this…but that is how it "appears" to me. Even if the Leafs beat Florida, (and that is a long ways off)..and they continue their run…I think they have to move on from both of these players. It's just a gut feeling I have that they are better off without both of them…they played long enough to show their character. In fact the Leafs were without Matthews for a good stretch this year, and they didn't seem to miss him. No matter how the Leafs' season ends I would move on from both…Get good value for them while they can…and build a team like Florida with more grit and character…I think they have the right coach for that…and some really solid pieces…I would move on from Shanahan as well. I feel like if they don't move on from them this offseason and get really good value for them…they will soon fall behinds teams like Ottawa, Montreal, Detroit, Columbus, NYI.
It took OT 4-4 Florida to beat the leafs by a lucky shots of Riley 2x, a goal that was declared a goal that shouldn't. Every Florida man was exhausted, they barely beat the leafs. The Leafs are playing so better than the Cats. We can't win a sweep with a Stanley Cup Champs but really the Cats are not the cats before and Leafs became stronger on another level.

I think this is the best Florida has and we could have won that game, I think toronto has a bit higher gear and the panthers don't.
Lets hope stollie is back sunday or we might need to use another goalie if woll continues his current play

I think all the falling on Woll that Florida did this game had a massive effect on the game. I think they smell blood in the water now. That Woll is someone they can rattle by falling on him and making him scared.

Sam I get it we are passionate about the buds but buddy come on I watch your podcasts faithfully and it's time to stop hating on us man …the breed of hockey players isn't the same anymore they watch your podcasts trust me and it plays on their minds ….why not be positive and have a different perspective on this team it's a very good version that I haven't seen in decades ..be more supportive with these guys they are playing very well remember these panthers have been the best team the last 3 years they are fine come on man you can do better
A bad bounce, a bad goal, no Matthews goals—whatever. The Leafs were Atrocious for nearly the entire 2nd period. They largely outplayed Florida afterwards, but if you want to win every game, you can’t afford to play without energy. They took the foot off the gas for the second period and it cost them.
Lesson for game 4 is to play hard for 60 minutes. That’s how you control your destiny.
You guys always blame a Leafs player instead of giving the opponent any credit. The game moves way too fast to expect these guys to be flawless. Credit to Florida. Season on the line down 3-1 and they fought back. Leafs played well overall.
