I’d love Conner’s scoring but I feel Foresburg and even Z would be a better fit in Motown.
If Nashville is looking to blow it up and start anew, I say "welcome to Detroit, Filip Forsberg" and make a deal, if we can. I think wresting Connor out of Winnipeg will be more difficult, given his success there and where that team sits currently.
With the 2 first round picks the Wings will get from Montreal for Larkin, Yzerman will have the option to either get younger by using the draft picks or use the picks for trade capital.
Enough with getting all these players from Michigan it’s ain’t working YZERSCAM need to go
They need defense. Get Ekblad.

Wings need physicality. Any players that aren't bringing a heavy dose of that don't interest me.
This is to the guy who said that SY has to go. Have you ever even put on a pair of skates? Have you ever played in the NHL? And if so did you play for 22 seasons? Did you score almost 700 goals? Were you captain of your team for the longest time in history? SY knows hockey and knows how to build a team just like he did in TB who are still making the playoffs since he left !!! Wings do need 1 top 6 forward (more in the bottom 6 that can play physical and kill penalties) but they need 2 top 4 defensemen the most (one LD and one RHD). In terms of defensemen in the UFA market, there are 3 that fit the needs of the Wings in Gavrikov, Ekblad and Fabbro. Wings need Gavrikov for sure and one of Fabbro or Ekblad. If they can't get one or any of these guys then a trade or two needs to happen. Pelech from the Islanders could be a good LD option if they can't sign Gavrikov. RHD options for trades could be Rasmus Andersson from the Flames, Gudas from the Ducks, Luke Schenn from the Jets.
For me it's Kyle Connor easy over Forsberg. Guy has been pretty consistent over his career in scoring and playmaking. I would imagine the Jets will try to extend him this summer and if they can't, they might look to make a trade. One player i would love for them to get is Tom Wilson from the Caps but unless Ovi decides to retire this summer and the Caps decide to start re-tooling or rebuilding a bit, i don't see them trading him. Guys that can score, hit a lot and fight anyone are a rare breed these days and teams that have them don't want to trade them.
Some slots could possibly be filled internally like MBN replacing Kasper on the wing of Larkin/Raymond since they play a similar game or ASP breaking out in camp and making the top 4 of the defense. Problems is, you can't bank on that happening with rookies because if it doesn't happen then you are left with big holes and are no closer to making the playoffs.

Jets would pay him 8.5-10m.
And Detroit doesn't have ability make a hockey trade if jets did move him they would want a similar level player back.
