Elliott said that Holland will bring someone to be his successor. This is a temporary hired.
Short term deal for Holland, means coaching change is coming. If Holland looks to make a splash quickly, Hiller is not the guy.
I don’t like the half committal to Holland. I’m hoping for Vigneault for our new head coach.
Holland was decent in Edmonton. He pushed them over. He made mistakes (Nurse's contract – $2M too high, Athanasiou, Campbell) but did some really good things (e.g., Eklund, Hyman, Kane, Kulak – and cleaned up Chiarelli's mess). Drafted Philip Broberg, Dylan Holloway – who the Blues offer-sheeted. He stabilized the organization—five years of mature, calm, and experienced management. Leadership maturity is so important in management as it ripples through the whole organization. His moves are 50:50 good and bad, but his stability really helps. The Oil have made the playoffs 6 years in a row, which he contributed to. The frozen salary cap really hand-cuffed him as his cap strategy got scuttled – roster depth was the casualty.
"Who will help us WIN NOW" is the key message, that's why it's not someone younger. Rob believes the team is ready and wants Holland to fine tune the team to win the cup. No long term plans, win now.. not sure about that, but fingers crossed. GKG!

I believe Hiller will be coaching next season because the organization believes the players ultimately cost the Kings the series against Edmonton not the coach

Nothing changes until Luc is removed. He is a big reason why Lombardi was fired, something that should have never happened. Its been all downhill for the Kings since the Lombardi era.
If Holland crashes and burns and the Kings don't advance out of the 1st round next season and the Ducks do maybe not this next season but the following one, I hope that AEG moves Beckerman and Co. out of their Kings leadership roles as well.

I like it , I don’t think you hire a 69 year old to rebuild, the kings almost swept the oilers , and look what the oilers did to the knights ,had the game winning goal in all 5 games lol ! They are right there , they just need a different coach , who’s offensive minded , and to stay as good or get better with a few moves .

Unfortunately, Gavi made $5,875,000, How much more do we think we can give him? I'm sorry I don't see paying him anymore than that. The $11,000,000 to Doughty for 2 more years is the anchor. I know everybody loves him, but if you want to continue like we are you let him play out his contract. Something is going to have to give for this team moving forward and that means moving some pieces that won't make a lot of fans happy. The cap in Hockey is not like baseball

Both teams trading players n managers for the past 4 years has proved to both teams it’s not working.
The rumor is, that he was told to lock up Holloway and Broberg early last season and he didn't do it. I also think that Jeff Jackson wanted a bigger voice and Holland wanted full control.
Hiller should learn from Bruce Cassidy. Cassidy took responsibility for Vegas's lost to the Oilers.
Jay Woodcroft has also won playoff series, Hiller hasn't. And he has 28 playoff games, not 14,
I think Hiller deserves another year (albeit barely). Last October, I had very little faith in the team as constructed, but they were able to contend for 1st place and had an historic year (as far as Kings' history goes). I think he deserves another shot at the Playoffs (where he certainly flamed out this last year).
If this guy builds the team the way he built Edmonton, the Kings will be a below-average team in the West. Coilers have the two best players in the league, and they still have zero cups to their name.
