  1. Draisaitl is playing injured. He’s nowhere near his usual game. McDavid is a bit banged up. He’s blocking shots too. Can’t use injury as an excuse for not winning. All teams have injured players. We don’t have Eckholm. No excuses.

  2. You knew something was wrong with. VEGAS ALL SERIES ? When top key players not scoring on the Skinner goalie ? So apparently they were not 100% healthy . Will be made public as to WHY no scoring all series ? Has anyone seen McDavid or Drysittle lately 2 – Nothing Burgers at 34,000, 000. Combined for little if anything . They will be trade bait soon . WATCH !

  3. I'm not sure but Vegas' team seems to be specifically built to physically "punish" teams and wear teams down in order to have success, Coach Cassidy kinda alluded to this when he stated at the start of the series that they need to play "physical" against the Oiler, hit their defense and wear the Oilers down (and which they will do he said). Imo such a game plan is not sustainable over the long haul, especially for the entire playoffs, its too taxing on the body. Big players tend to be slower, which in Vegas case showed against the Oilers. To counter a big physical team like Vegas, a team needs to use speed and finesse which the Oilers had plenty of. However, the Oilers did enough physicality themselves and wore down some of Vegas key players, especially their defense, and we know Stone couldn't play last game. Anyway, in the end, speed and finesse won over brute force! Therefore, Vegas might do well to change their approach/team make up if they want to beat the Oilers in the future. Otherwise it will be the same story every year. As it currently stands, Vegas is too big and too slow to beat the Oilers. Nonetheless, it was an intense series!

  4. From an Oilers fan, I appreciate the other side of the story. I checked in a couple years ago as well.

Good series and there was definitely caution coming into this.

  5. Hi! I am a Oilers fan living in Calgary. I really enjoyed listening to your broadcast the next day. You are a fair, knowledgeable team of podcasters that you don't see in every city. I am going to keep subscribed to your podcast and I hope our teams meet again next year playoffs.

  6. oh look the oilers beat a Marchy-less Knights team whoopdy do. so can we bring back Marchy now?

  7. It's unfathomable how they got shut out…..TWICE by the worst goalie in the tournament and one that had a 6 GAA and got benched after 3 games. I give him some credit for playing far better but he was rarely challenged with very many high danger chances.

  8. After Cassidy said "we're facing elimination, now it's time to get going" and those guys responded by —

    * checks notes *

    …scoring zero goals.

Yea, he's not a bad coach by ANY stretch of the imagination, but I think it's safe to say he's lost the room.

Too many old grizzled vets whose best days are behind them and a LOT of young passengers that don't have what it takes to lead the team. Adin Hill being locked in until 2031 is a HARD pill to swallow, they should've dealt him after winning the cup and locked in LT.

At this point in time, I'm not sure a re-tool is enough to salvage what remains of this ship. Not a bad team by any means, but is it enough to get by the likes of the soilers or DallASS? Me thinks not.

Edit: to the aforementioned point above, I don't even think it'd be enough to get past LA.

  9. 90% oilers fans in the comments.
That shows the size of fanbases and why players in canadian markets are under alot more pressure than in the US.

  10. Vegas had this coming after their arrogant win over the Oilers years ago especially with Pietrangelo's huge slash on 29. I"m sure the Oilers feel a great achievement by taking Vegas out so fast. Vegas is a strong, solid team, former stanley cup winners. So its hard to believe the Oilers did this, but they did. Oilers have a great chemistry and belief as a team, it is a wonder to watch. We know you gave it your best Vegas, so no regrets, but this is not your year.

  11. It is not your fault Tony. Fortunately, anti-VGK biased predictions do not dictate results…even from a person hosting on a VGK fan-based channel for some inexplicable reason.

  12. How do you have Vegas beating Oilers in 5? They went to the finals last year and were deep in playoffs the season before that. They made big improvements to their team this season. On top of that Vegas is not the same team that won the cup. Their best player back then was Jonathan Marchessault.

  13. Even though the series ended in 5, 4 of those games were tied in the final minutes of the game. Knights did well to limit the Oilers scoring, but they met an Oilers team that wasn't going to beat themselves like the one they met in 2023. Good coverage guys!

  14. Hats off to hill and skinner. They both played amazing and made big saves. I've enjoyed your guys podcasts . Thank you

  15. Golden Knights did a great job, not knocking them at all.. Hat's off for getting that far.. I am from Alberta so It's Oiler's or Flames and Winnipeg and then it's American teams for me.. Oiler's has a great pack, they working decent as a team when Injury's have not plagued them like any team.. All teams at this level are great players (Respect). Roll of the dice like anything in life.. I am sure next year will be Exciting for both teams.. Stay safe everyone and give to your local Children's Hospital would be great, does not matter where you live, pick the closest one to you..

  16. Not a good look for some Golden Knights fans here.

The Oilers fans here have been classy overall.

    The Golden Knights fans had
    1. A bad chirp about getting diced by Dallas
    2. Someone saying that coaches don't matter.
    3. Another saying to blow up the team. FWIW, rebuilds have mediocre results. Retooling is a better option. Vegas will retool on the fly for next season.
    4. Another saying a pathetic effort. There is more to hockey than the effort, fire and passion. It's as bad as a hockey mom in a U10 game saying to "skate" or "do something". Any consideration that maybe Vegas overachieved this year and it's right in the middle of Edmonton's win now window?

Vegas fans, it's been nearly ten years. It is time to learn the game and stop with lousy hot takes. Vegas (and Nashville) have a reputation for not knowing much about hockey. The comments here do not disprove the reputation.

It could be worse, you could all be Leafs fans.

I hope Edmonton gets past Dallas and gets their SCF rematch.
