    That’s a tough question really. They shouldn’t because they need a top 4 def. They could use marner but too expensive

    The Wings need an major overall on their D, too many third pair D.. Trade for Rasmus Andersson from Calgary. Maybe a UFA like Eckblad or Garikov. Marner I have my doubts. We need abrasive forwards like Sam Bennett.

    We should go after him but with all the other team let’s be honest who gets him we’ll see but i do think he will consider Detroit – if we get him and maybe one other in and re sign Kane – we’ll see – bring in two more good top 6 players making Kane more a specialist and 2nd 3rd line / we make playoff quite easy grab one serviceable d man bring up another rookie / make the playoffs – following year we can shed those last few bad contacts – bam if things go perfectly wings can be trying for a cup in 27

    We just can’t keep Missing out on all the players we go for – we didn’t get stamkos cause we didn’t want to give him an extra year – that’s ridiculous 😂

    No, bring in bennet and jeanott. Bring in players that hit and are hard to play against.

    "No!" He's too soft, he's not the Red Wings type of player. Sure he'll get you some dazzling goals during the season but he is not tough enough for the playoffs.

    It is a pipe dream. He is not coming to Detroit. If he did come to Detroit, he would not be a 100-point player. He would not have a sniper like Mattews or Nylander on the Wings. He would be a 75-80 point player, which is still great. i can see him going to LA Kings, Boston or Carolina.

    Marner would improve the Wings for sure but i don't see him ending up in Detroit. Wings also need some size and grit in their top 6 and to me they need 2 top 4 defensemen. Bennett could be a fit for that but he won't be worth the contract he gets. I would try and get Mason Marchment from Dallas if they choose to move him to make cap space. MBN could be an option but we don't know if he will be ready to make the team for next season.

    For UFA defensemen Gavrikov, Ekblad and Fabbro are the only options worth it for the Wings. For trades, Pelech from the Islanders, Gudas from the Ducks and maybe Rasmus Andersson from the Flames. They need 1 LD and 1 RHD from that list to fix this defense and bump Chiarot and Johansson to the bottom pair. Then you have a solid defense worthy of a playoff spot.

    Bottom 6 on forward needs to be redone too. Too much money wasted on average players that don't bring what the Wings need in terms of PK ability, secondary scoring, physicality and toughness.
