Marchand is pissed not because he got enough penalty minutes to end the game but he clearly asked, “And what he get”. And they told him which only as a total of 4 minutes so the Hurricanes would have a full 7 minutes of PP. that’s why he flipped out. Because the other guy clearly started it. Love hockey

Canes fan here. Bullshit move by Shayne and Marchand had a right to be upset. He actually missed that hit before so there must have also been something going on between the two before that. No fan of either Marchand in particular, nor of the Panthers collectively, but the instigator belongs to Gostisbehere for firing the puck directly at Marchand… definitely an intent to injure. Gostisbehere is deserving of supplementary discipline on this one, but given the brutal nature of refereeing combined with the NHL’s cowardice in properly issuing suspensions in this years playoffs I predict a maximum additional penalty to Gostisbehere of a $5000 fine, but it won’t surprise me if he gets nothing. Then when things boil over again in this series the powers tha5 be in the league office will be all “surprised”. Do better NHL, do better.
