As much as it pains me to say, Florida is simply the better team. We have a good team in Carolina but we're not on the same level as the Panthers. I hate to say it but I don't see us winning this series and I believe it will be over relatively quickly, with that being said even if we lose I see this season as a positive and as long as we win at least one game and don't get swept I believe it's something we can build on and move into the next season
Hurricanes can do this, the Panthers looked more banged up by the end of the game. It's a series, not a single game, these things matter.
Ghostisbeher was the Canes best player last night. I'd like to see Kochetkov in net. He's a good counter to the way Florida likes to attack the net. Andersen was too far back, and that's why the Panthers were targeting high glove and high blocker. Kochetkov really attacks the shooter and his active stick stops a lot of the net front plays the Panthers try to do, which Andersen won't engage with
It was just game 1, if the goal didn’t go in for Florida in the 3rd it could have been much closer and a different conversation.
Seemed like the coaching staff did not have the team properly prepared.
Game was just between two teams at different levels …If this was fully healthy Panthers team this would be no contest
This series is over. The Canes aren't beating the Panthers in a 7-game series. Panthers had to tear through Tampa and Toronto to get here. And the Canes.. New Jersey and Washington. Panthers in 4,5,6 it doesn't matter. Panthers aren't losing this series.

what bothers me most is the mental mistakes. i can understand being a little rusty in terms of passing. It's still not acceptable given the stakes, but I get it. What i can't tolerate is a team beating itself. Don't get me wrong, Florida beat the Canes, but the Canes put themselves in the position for Florida to do it.
It’s going to be a long series, but idk what the Canes and their fans expected… y’all beat an overrated Caps team that struck zero fear in the Panthers or Leafs. Canes are a great team, but you’re not just an underdog, you’re a heavy underdog against the team that’s made it to 3 straight ECF who’s actually won a game in the ECF let alone both series
Carolina hadn't played since last week.Florida has been playing coming off of a game 7 you could tell the difference I expect the Canes to be better tomorrow night a lay off is normally not good .
Panthers at their best are better than Canes. Canes are an excellent team but the Panthers have more depth and seem to be getting better and better. Florida seems to like playing on the road. I don’t know if they will win this series or the Stanley Cup, but I think the Panthers have more talent this year than last year. They are gelling now that they are all finally playing together. This team has the ability to dominate.
Rest versus Rust…..clearly the rest did cause rust. Florida meanwhile was in the same form as they were in G7 in Toronto.

Florida has the answer for the constant dump & chase of the Canes. Canes aren't gonna change that up because their unable to. Brindamour's way isn't going to win a Stanley Cup….he, Brindamour needs to formulate a different offensive scheme.
I picked up the same things watching it live in the arena. Our energy was good in terms of not looking lethargic, but the sloppiness was odd. Lots of bobbling the puck on the sticks and lots of having to turn around when they received the pass. Also, what bugged me is a lot of let me pass again instead of shoot. And Florida ISN'T NJ or Washington.
