Bro. I agree the 7th game was a wash. But like they made it there and fought in the 1st and end of the 3rd. Panthers just didn't stop fighting from 1st till end of 3rd. Since they lost you start with they suck as they always have. But you forget there best goalie was taken out of the game by one of panthers best players and was no suspension or penalty applied. This guy just gotta keep playing. That put fear into them. Then came woll and he put hope into them again. Really after the playoffs each year they need to start calling more plays. Because idc if it changes the flow of the game so many ignored calls in the game causes so many players to get hurt and I love hits but I hate seeing someone getting one that could end their career. Playoffs last 5-6 years have been getting worse and worse for hits. Looking like late 90's and early 2000's out here. So terrible.
Oh relax. They took the Stanley Cup champs to 7 games. If it weren't for that dirty hit knocking Stolarz out, we would have beat the Panthers. We were a goal away from a 3-0 series lead. You dumb chumps are blowing this waaaay out of proportion. Look at the shelacking that Tampa Bay got and what CArolina is getting now. We have a great team . With a bit of luck and no injury to our goalie, we would have been on to the next round and quite likely to the Stanley Cup Championship round.

What i think is that both matthews and Marner were always big fish in the pond when growing up, when pressure comes they fumbles while in europe, promising youth are always put to play in older age games so they expirience tough moments and times

I’m just happy that the leafs made it to the 2nd round.
After 19-21 years of being made fun of for being a leafs fan and them never making the playoffs past round 1, it’s just so satisfying to see them make it to round 2.
(I mean yeah it would have been nice if they made it to the castern conference finals) but now I can go and tell those people off for blaming me for being a maple leafs fan because they lose the 1st round every year.

Mitch will leave, Tavares will either leave or come back for far less. Hopefully Morgan Reilly gets shipped out… and that leaves one problem – Auston Matthews. Highest paid player in the league, 69 goal scorer last year in the regular season… and AN ABSOLUTE NO SHOW IN EVERY POSTSEASON he has ever played in. And he’s the captain of this team??? He’s a tone setter, and that tone is comatose. Until Matthews is gone, Leafs will never have a chance to win in the post season. You need a leader who plays with aggression and heart. Matthews has neither. He ALWAYS plays scared in the biggest games. I hope Keith Pelley and the new Leafs management sees this. You can’t have one player eat so much of the cap and then consistently disappears in the playoffs. And he’s not going to magically improve next season – if anything, he’ll be worse, because of this strange “I have to fly to Germany and can’t tell anybody why” injury. Seems like that injury has permanently robbed him of the explosiveness of his shot. So now not only will he no show in the playoffs, he’ll only be a 35 goal scorer in the reg season too. It’ll never work in Toronto for him – the moment is always too big. Convince him to waive and get a haul for him – yes, no player in that haul will have the talent to score 60+ goals in a reg season… but get players in that haul like a Sam Bennett who play with grit and are playoff game breakers, who play tough and not scared. Talent alone is not enough. Shanny, Dubas… their vision of “we can and we will” failed miserably. Build around Nylander. He at least shows up some of the time.
