Hard after all these years not to ask Stevie why….
Thanks for the vid!
I don't know that Yzerman drafts only the SAME guy. I think it's more of Yzerman demanding that most of their prospects have AT LEAST certain key elements of their game / character in order to be considered as a draft target. I think he likes having guys in the system that can play both ways, and have a good strong motor. I think Yzerman values character ALOT as well. He seems to take guys that interview well with strong leadership qualities.
I don't think anyone is questioning SY on the first rounders. After that, it looks like most of the second rounders so far will at least have a shot at the NHL. After that you have Soderblom, Lombardi, Finnie all outside the 3rd round.
I think Yzerman have done a find job of drafting. We will be a solid squad in 27'-28' and onward.
I hate how people think that Steve drafted guys like Veleno, Zadina, Rassmussen, Etc. His first draft with the team was the 2019 draft. HE HAS DONE GOOD IN THE DRAFT!!!!!!! Not to mention the wings have gotten scammed, dropping positions in like every draft.
It's almost if rebuilding a world beater takes time. Impatient fans are so annoying.
Having 3 Marco Kaspers….. oh no…..😂
I find it interesting that you still say brandsegg nuegard when everyone involved with the red wings pronounces his last name as 'neegard'
The success of this rebuild will be based on guys like Soderblom, Lombardi and Buchelnikov. I think Soderblom has the potential to get 25 goals and 40 points from the middle 6. Lombardi can be a good play driving 3C. Buchelnikov could be a second line second power play sniper with dangles. We'll see.
Yzerplan drafting has been a solid A. Pro scouting is the problem.
Cope and glaze just makes yet another playoff-less year all the more sweet!
Probably the biggest ? was the second round of the 2023 draft going for two defenders and a goalie. They already traded Gibson as Nashville wanted him, Cleveland is transferring to his 3rd NCAA school and Augustine may not sign and instead explore free agency.
Only redeeming drafting quality after the 1st round in this very same draft is 7th rounder Emmitt Finnie who has been signed.
Rasmussen isn't worth a trade for a used bag of pucks. And a K. Holland draft pick.
Yzerman is undeniably excellent at drafting. I think he's been good across the board, but drafting is a clear strength.
I wish the pro scouting was as good as amateur scouting.
Are people not watching the playoffs this year? Do you not see what Florida is doing to these so called “high skilled” forwards? Stevie is building this team to be hard to play against. Not regular season/powerplay merchants like the canadiens.
No he hasn’t. Fire the yzerclown
one of the worst gm's in the league 😂😂😂
I just love how you people who have never even picked up a hockey stick sit there and criticize SY!!!! You will be the first ones who say that you had faith in him the whole time!!! Watch when it’s all said and done and we bring the cup home and it will be all thanks to SY!!!! The best GM in the business!!!!!!!!!
