I'm a flames fan Iginla was great for the flames 11 strgiht 30 goal seasons. Flames didn't win with him so they traded him to Pittsburgh.
I'm on board for change. I think he needs to go. But, it does suck they aren't going to get any assets. I also thinks everyone knows he will go somewhere and start performing in the playoffs.
It's gonna be hilarious when we are fighting for a wild card and Mitchy is crushing it with a real contender.
I think Steve was 100% right when he said they failed to trade Marner when they could have and they are watching him leave for nothing. As a Wings fan I cannot imagine if they hadn't traded for Shanahan, of all people, they would have won their first cup. For those who don't know they Traded Keith Primeau and Paul Coffey to get him. Primeau was a fantastic player (Not on Marner's level but still good at the time) and Coffey is Paul Coffey Hall of Famer lol. How much better would the Leafs have been if they got Rantanen or somebody with a high motor that can drive the team in the playoffs? we will never know now but that probably sets the franchise back a few years if they can't make a block buster move or get lucky in free agency.

Do you clowns ever think that maybe Mitch isn't comfortable in a city that dropped all charges against the men who carjacked him and his then girlfriend at gunpoint? I wouldn't even want to visit Toronto, let alone raise a family there.
So if Mitch Marner wants to be accountable….as supposedly does each of the rest of the Core Four (or Five including Reilly) and if the Leafs as a team are also supposedly accountable…..then the fact is they just cannot get it done….not as individuals certainly not as a team….change has to be made….a complete shakeup in fact….

No NHL player is worth a million dollars. But, they all take the deal and overstay their welcome well into adulthood instead of doing something else. I have no clue why. If I were paid that much, I would be gone after 1 year – think about all of the crazy amazing stuff you could be doing instead of dealing with the nonsense of frozen rubber sticking business. It's a no-brainer for me, but maybe in that world, they never get to see what the real world is like, or worse, they have seen it and they dislike the real world.

These 3 guys are culpable in why there are so many bonehead fans who take things too far. Sure, Marner and his camp could have handled things differently, but the media hysteria constantly surrounding him has not helped on how the player is perceived amongst fans.
"I know I keep saying the same things" and "as I keep saying" are ways to reinforce his point. You can see by his facial expressions and body language that he is uncomfortable and understandably so. Two things can be true at the same time, he has made a lot of money and it's time to move on because things are not working. It's beyond pressure, fan base, front office, etc. The core four don't work. The chemistry is not there. The thrill is gone. It is in their heads. If there would have been a possible interaction with a sports psychologist years ago maybe, but at this point it's over. Just break up already and be done with it. He is over it and I don't blame him. He is going to be successful elsewhere because he will be at peace

I am a Habs fan and would love to have a 100 point player and Mitch Marner on our team . What are you going to miss Steve . Your going to miss the 100 points and when he wins a cup and you guys are still living with Mathews and his ongoing injury is laughable. Love your show but we havent had a player like Marner in decades . Cry me a river ,.

The Leafs ARE the only team who challenged the panthers. NOBODY has been able to beat the Panthers. I do NOT want to blow up this Leafs team. The issue is not Toronto, its Florida.
Tampa won 1 game. Carolina has won ZERO. Leafs won 3 against Florida. NObody has beaten Florida. Nobody beat them last year. Do all you Leafs fans ever stop to consider that the issue is not Toronto, its Florida. THEY ARE in a league of their own. Nobody has beaten them.

Whether its Utah,Pittsburgh,NY,Chicago whoever fans dont understand hes situation he is most critized,he lives her all year unlike Matthews/Willy grew up like tavares a leafs fan.
Its probably honor play hometown but when you have family,friends,or trying your best and the media is horrible it gets to you.

Sometimes the contract dictates hate as well overpaid or fighting every dollar. Laine gets alot of hate for contract/work ethic as well.
