Yzerman has a lifetime contract which you can tell by the way he speaks to the media. He is not on the hot seat. Not even a warm seat.

Yzerman isn't going anywhere. Chris Illich is the William Clay Ford of hockey. As long as the team is making him money, he doesn't care about anything. His dad is probably spinning in his grave over what's happening.
The only hot seat he is on is with the fans. He's done everything that ownership has asked him to do.
Frank is an idiot. He is so off base all of the time. Chris Ilitch won’t ever put Yzerman on the hot seat…. Media’s expectation is the real issue either the Wings rebuild.

chris illitch the primary owner of the red wings is going through a lengthy and expensive divorce, I doubt he removes Yzerman, a friend, before the divorce settles and most likely wont shell out for 2 gms contracts
