1. A point I forgot to make on DeBoer: although I may disagree he should be fired, Jim Nill has to at least entertain the option and see whats out there.

P.S. I hate DeBoer's comment after the game on Oettinger more and more

  2. It aint so bad being a stars fan …least the franchise won a cup and is consistent..try being a sabres, canucks etc fan..pain. Benn is good but need a new captain Modano 2.0

  3. 0:13 The Oilers in period 1 went up early even with, later on the game, the Dallas Stars having made things interesting with a 4-3 deficit. In the end, though, the Oilers were clearly the better team and find themselves in their second straight Stanley Cup final.

  4. DeBoer's style is not a physical one. I felt like he was reining in the physicality all year, and it was most evident when the Oilers abused Roope with no response. He's too worried about taking penalties (but then we take them anyway). The physical play only seemed to come out when the team had its back against the wall. Nill added physical defensemen in the offseason and then the Stars didn't play physical. I like DeBoer, but I don't think the team gets over the hump with him behind the bench.

  5. FIRE Deboer…It's coaching when you dont have your lines figured out by the WCF ?? We need size, physicality, backend scoring, a LEADER??!!! You pull the goalie last game not this one…our coach has WET BRAIN!!!

  6. That was an embarrassing series. Complete refusal to make any adjustments. Otter wasn't at his best but pulling him as if that was the main issue just is a bad look. And the way he did it and his comments post-game just made it look 10 times worse

  7. Oilers fan here, I just want to tell you kudos for the support and appreciation Dallas fans showed your team after a tough elimination loss. CLASSY! , just like the Canes fans. That's how you fan! Not like the lowlife, fair weather fans in Toronto, who booed their team, threw Leafs jerseys and debris on the ice while the game was still being played. They haven't stopped wringing their hands and calling for heads to role two weeks after the loss. Toronto has crybaby pseudo fans. Dallas has real fans. Nothing but respect for Stars fans! P.S. Deboer is the whiniest coach in the playoffs. How does that motivate a team?

  8. It’s not Pete’s fault this team can’t get over the hump it’s all on the players

  9. DeBoer will be fired. How on earth you bury Robertson on 4th line at one point and on second PP unit? Rantanen was ice cold with no goals in last 8 games and he's on first line. He needed to pick up his game but returned to non-production like in the regular season since the trade.

  10. DeBoer should be fired immediately. This guy can’t win a cup. His teams are soft. How did you not have your lines figured out by the WCF? Benn is worthless too. DeBoer, Benn, Marchment better all be gone. Duchene too. Bums

  11. Well they made it so either DeBoer or Oettinger has to go. Can't keep both after that embarrassing goalie pull last night.

  12. soft team no physicality. feminine. no home ice advantage. gay in-arena experience honestly. bring back the good ol' Reunion Arena days. need new jerseys too. very gay

  13. The Dallas Star's are CURSED and it just deepened with them being the first team in NHL history to lose three consecutive WCF. I told you people the Stars would lose to the team that broke the Stars PK unit. The Stars defense is a round 1-2 defense, but its not a WCF or SC defense. Bischel is a joke, and his "I'm Derian Hatcher" double is the furthest thing from the truth.

Dallas Star's are CUURSSSSSSSEEDDDDD! And now, the coach by yanking Ottenger just crushed his confidence by 50%. hahaha, couldn't have happened to a better team, Lord Stanley is making you pay for that controversial "no goal" in 99-00 SC.

Cursed – its alive and well in Dallas.

  14. Oiler fan. What was the Dallas defence up to. If you were to take a picture of the first two Edmonton goals and hang it on a wall. There wouldn’t be one Dallas defenseman in the picture.

Oilers were hungrier than Dallas. I don’t know what else to say. The Oilers were quick on pucks and counter punched everytime Dallas got on their game

I sure don’t like the way Deboer acted on the goalie pull or his comments at the end of the game. Suspect he will be gone after this. Ottenger was the guy who got you here, and is the franchise goalie.

Oilers are fast and big. They hit everything that moves. Guys like PodZ, Hyman, Frederic, Kane, Nurse, Kapanen were playing punishing hockey. These guys never skated away from a potential hit.

  15. Joey, the Dallas Stars offense was shut down so effectively, you should have understood this as they were shut-out several times during rounds 1-2, when you see this, you have to understand against a team like Edmonton that is 4 lines deep, physical and experienced. Hahaha, Joey, that is hiliarious, McDavid is not a "complete" level above MacKinnon, that is a ridiculous statement – LOL. I cannot believe you didn't really mention or spend very much time on Corey Perry, the Dallas Stars got "slapped" by a 40 year old Corey Perry who had countless goals and assists.

I'd say people talking about Dallas' youth depth is very questionable right now, none of those players showed up, where is Wyatt Johnson, but, two things doomed the Stars just like the last 2 years, the Stars PK unit was broke and scored on, and the Stars defense cannot handle elite players. haha, Lybushkin, hahaha, and Bischell, hahaha, Bischell thinks he is "Derian Hatcher" and isn't anywhere close to that…hahaha.

    Stars are CURSED!!

  16. I really thought Dallas had this series at first. After getting past 2 powerhouse teams like Colorado & Winnipeg, I thought for sure they had it. The central division is much more competitive than the Pacific. Maybe all the hard work caught up. Great try tho guys.

  17. Mr.Joey Erickson,as a 76 year old,Chicago Guy,who played hockey,for twenty years,You are a breath of fresh air!Your insights of the games,is outstanding!I think Ottenger,is over rated,the coach is probably gone,but Ottenger from what I have seen,classifies himself as a world class goalie!Sorry Otter,you ain’t won nothing,your play off performances speak for them selves,some time as men,you got to look in the mirror!Thomas A.Filipiak!!!

  18. This series didn’t come down to bottom pairing dmen. Not to mention that EVERY stars fan knew that Dumba and Boosh were not the answer from the jump. Nill’s biggest downfall is his obsession with veteran d men.

Also, DeBoer basically laid this one at Oetter’s feet. Not trying to be overly critical, but if you’re going to address it, take the five minutes to listen to the presser.

You did hit the nail on the head about the lack of physicality. At no point did the Stars try and make life rough for McDrai. And if you look at the teams that have made it to the Cup Finals since the inception of time, they have a way of playing right at, if not slightly over, the line of what could be a penalty or not. DeBoer really lost me as a fan with the “We’re not built for that” comment. It basically said they were afraid of Edmonton’s PP. which if that was the case, why keep putting Marchment out there to take stupid penalties.

Overall, really enjoyed your coverage during the PO. Here’s to hoping for better things down the road.

  19. you are not going to win any series when you only score 2 goals in a 3 game stretch. Otter was not the problem the forwards were. They were outplayed the entire series and had only 1 good period of hockey. PDB has got to go because of how he handled this debacle.

  20. If PDB wants to rip players he can start with DoucheBag Douchene who didnt show up the entire postseason even though he wants to win a cup. then go to Jamie 'i can't put a sentence together' Benn who was also MIA.

  21. Follow up question for Coach DeBoer on behalf of Stars fans… Would you say there is enough data errrrrrrrrr large enough sample size to call you out as a head coach and your failure to get your team from the conference final in to the Stanley Cup Final????

  22. I think you had the better, deeper team. I watched the games and it seemed to me that your team had too many mental mistakes that were out of character. Blues fan that was rooting for you.

  23. The issue is we dont hit and punish the enemy. We need tougher big defenders like lian bishel. Hes a beast. Petrocic also needs to be on the regular season roster. Hes very seasoned and makes great passes

  24. Best of luck next season for your Stars. If the Oilers are to lose to anyone in the west, I'd be most ok with it being Dallas.

  25. I am a oilers fan
But I also love your channel
We support our fav team it is very normal but I think it is some room to discuss hockey stuffs

  26. While not phrased well a simple fact is as goalie he let in way too many goals all series and he does have an atrocious record in the postseason vs Edmonton. As coach I may start to wonder where my goalies head is at and a change may be in order.

  27. Sorry, but I believe truth be told you can’t blame Dallas. You can’t blame Vegas can’t blame LA. They were all stepping stones to get what Edmonton wanted, and that was revenge for last year‘s debacle with the Stanley Cup finals and the mismanagement of the media to make McDavid look like he was weak… He is not…. Sorry, but all the other teams are just in the way. OILERS WERE PRAYING FOR THE PANTHERS REMATCH.. Oilers plan is to destroy that team

  28. I’m an Oilers fan, but immense respect for Otter. He tried, and it felt like he was collateral. You could see he felt dejected after being pulled 😢

  29. It’s not all on Otter, gotta have defensive help in front. Dallas needs to show some grit in front of the net, clear opposing players. IMHO
