  1. Joey that was your worst take. Keep Marchment? The “some of that” that he provides, when did you see him provide it? He’s attracts penalties like the elderly contracts Covid. Sorry. Too many stupid penalties including the one in game 4 right after we tied it and Deboer threw him on the power play after EDM scored in the mush penalty???!! No. You need to pay mikkos new contract and find the money where possible and that’s get off the mush contract. Complete momentum killer. And let’s all be honest he’s an elite diver. Send him to the summer olympics he’ll flourish there.

  2. As any Oilers fan will tell you, Ceci is not the guy. He is not a top 4 d man. In fact, he sucks. He needs to be dropped ASAP if the stars want to make it to a cup final.

  3. The Oilers got rid of their coach Jay Woodcroft to be replaced by Kris Knoblauch before the playoffs some yrs ago. Woodcroft did an excellent job in getting the Oilers top players to work well together into the playoffs before the covid lockdown. The result under Woofcroft was over some yrs that McDavid&Draisaitl winning awards but not getting into the Stanley Cup Finals. The team was excelled in their forward game but failed in their defense. The Oilers might be able to get into the playoffs but there wasn't the edge that's needed to get into the Stanley Cup Finals and win. Kris Knoblauch took that a step futher but what made the difference was Paul Coffey joining the Oilers coaching staff as the defense coach. Also something to consider is that Kris Knoblauch used to be Paul Maurice's assistant coach when they were in Winnipeg. So both Paul Maurice&Kris Knoblauch have the same style of game. The difference is that last year Knoblauch has better players but they had less depth in their line to score goals&win games and more injured compared to Florida. This year hopefully Florida is more injured and the Oilers will win their home games and outplay Florida.

  4. Keep in mind, DeSmith is a damn good goalie. He was having a hell of a good year. In my personal opinion, I thought he played better than otter throughout much of the season. Stars were already loosing the series, what if DeSmith ended up standing on his head. It could’ve potentially turned the series around…. If we were playing against a normal team. That oiler team as much as i hate to say it, is the best team I’ve ever seen during these playoffs. Noone could’ve stopped those guys from scoring, and No-one could’ve scored on them. They’re defense was extremely good. Florida doesn’t stand a chance.

  5. Robo is our only guy putting shit in the net each series against the Oilers consistently these last two years. We need to stop playing the boards so much and corners when then deep in the forecheck and start driving the puck towards the nets with dudes instead of meaningless passes allowing time and space becoming filled blocking any effecting shooting. Once again we made Skinner look far far better than the oily Mario actually is by throwing pucks from the side with a mob of bodies blocking the net, due to the time wasted over passing and over dumping so deep and going in the corner. Rantanen, needed to stop driving to the corner doing a spinorama all to not have a shot because he’s so far in the boards, and passes to the nearest mate with one and half opponents attempting the fling the pass through. Previous series his best goals was when he went up the boards and then cut towards the center, getting into the front of the net and shooting an awesome rocket of a shot each time and it worked, it was effective, dangerous! Never take Otter out, he’s our best player. Jamie Benn may be a good dude and bleed green, but we need a captain that leads, shoots and communicates on and off the ice. Fire up the boys, kick ass when it needs to be kicked, but most importantly keep morale up and stand up for your men. Even if it’s going to the head coach and informing them that whatever decision they are about to make is going to break the ice and drown the team in aspects that goes beyond this period, game, series, season, and even career. You can do this with tact, and any coach would heed such reference from the team’s leader. Dismiss Pete and Benn, keep Marchment, we need his Mustache comedic faces when yelling at the refs and he’s our only grinder in front of the net besides the rookie. Duchene, love the dude but in games that matter lately becomes a ghost and forgets how good he can truly be. I.e. the whiff he made in series1game7 on an open net that he froze for near 3 seconds before shooting. Sign Granlund if possible, he was clutch and showed effectiveness and drive. And an apology to DeSmith to out him in that shitty situation, on an elimination game trying to not get spit on by McDavid.

  6. Little guy on the right – you say Oetter lost 6 of the last 7 games when the PLAYERS couldn’t even fucking score against Edmonton! You basically says that Oetter should have had a SHUTOUT for FOUR games. Use your full head.

  7. Do you understand the meaning of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

  8. Otter wasn't great, but Skinner outplayed Cutter because his Team had th Lead all series and his D shutdown our Stars Anemic offense. IF Pete had only pulled otter ok maybe he stays, but the COMMENTS are why he needs to go. Re: Stars being more physical, I agree they should be. Question is ARE we built for that, or do we need bunch of different players?

  9. I dont know who Ryan Chambers is but he's right on lots of stuff…..the Stars do need to change if they really want to go all the way…….cant just keep telling ourselves that our core is young and strong and all is well. All is not well, even though Stars do have some good talent and some good young talent. There does seem to be a culture problem and this whole discussion about being more physical needs context: We don't have those type of players (not to mention PDB system, doesnt seem to promote physical play). I'd say make some major changes now even if Stars regress for a season or 2 in order to try to win the cup before our young guys are old.

  10. Ryan is talking like Deboer is the one who is supposed to be the one with the pads on. The players are the main group to blame on this team. Some times the coach is the problem but I don't think this is one of those cases.

  11. And let me get this straight. You guys think that the coach.. THE COACH… is more to blame than the guy who was sitting in net getting burned all series long? See then you guys shouldn't even have a podcast about sports then. Why are you babying him (Oettinger)? He deserves A LOT of blame for this series. Of course the guys couldn't score but Skinner had maybe his best showing of his career and the defenders on EDM where playing out of their minds.
If we're being honest this Edmonton team is probably the best hockey team since at least the turn of the decade if not longer. And I would say it's probably the best team in over 10 years. I love the Stars but they weren't beating that team unfortunately

  12. Completely disagree with Ryan's take on the Stars being "mentally checked out" when the score was 3-0. The Stars fought hard to get back into the game pulling within 1 goal 2 times, which is much more indicative of a team fighting rather than "mentally checking out."

  13. Patrick Laine is rumored to be possibly bought out by Montreal would he be of interest at 1 year league minimum to see if he clicks with Rantanen and Hintz.

  14. IMO the Stars were playing the refs and the Oilers The refs were looking the other way while oilers were slashing and calling every trip, high stick embellishment they could Stars new it so they couldn’t really play

  15. It's the culture of the entire franchise. There is a culture of mediocrity that runs from the very top to the very bottom with this franchise. Changing that starts with dumping Benn and finding a real captain instead of someone who is just everyone's friend. Sometimes captains have to be assholes. Jamie Benn is completely incapable of that. It is acceptable to be just okay with this franchise. And that is a mindset that exists at every single position within the organization and needs to be purged immediately. This is a professional team, not a summer camp. Either get with the program or get out.

  16. Why are we starting the 4th line at home in an elimination game when the oilers put their 4th line out? Pute was confused and the team followed suit. Get him out! He has been to the finals btw, in 2012 with the devils

  17. Biz says Bichsel turtling at the end of game 1 tilted the series. I agree with him. The Stars set a precedent that they indeed can be f*cked with and punked around.

  18. In the last 2 years. Dallas was the easiest matchup both years. LA x 2, Vancouver, Vegas, and Florida were all more challenging series.
