Why would bo horvat wanna come back to this hell hole
The new Shanaplan seeks more soft players.
Barzal would be an amazing choice to bring to van. But for a 1 for 1 trade for Petey is bonkers.
Barzal 28 today so petey like a year and a half younger + Petey score.
Barzal has a couple good attributes that are prolly better then petey.
Canucks don't need a playmaker
Petey just has the edge better overall game in my opinion it's a just a tough year and bit for him unfortunately.
I would %100 gladly decline the trade myself.
Hughes style of leadership is pretty unique and I do agree that Petey was more comfortable with Horvath at the helm, Bo being more of an unselfish teamplayer.
Brazal plays majority RW or LW. I don’t know if he’ll be a fit in that 1C. I’ll rather have Pettersson otherwise
You kids.know Horvat is t the captain right? Anders Lee is the captain of the team so he would probably also expect EP to contribute like any other good captain. Horvat just wore the letter because the Canucks were horrible he wasn’t a good captain.
Barzal and 2026 a 1st rounder then yes
No thanks. More likely petty bounces back after his first bad season
Isn't Barzal slow?
I guess it doesn't matter cause Petey40 is as well
I would make this trade in a heartbeat!
Awful trade for isles, they are going through a retool, not a rebuild.. they should never trade barzal
Trade them Chytil, Räty and a 1st back for Horvat…
Nope. Not a difference maker for the team. The only one I may reconsider in hindsight may be Rantanen for EP40, but then again there was a Rantanen before Dallas (in Hurricanes) and another after the trade to Dallas.
No keep petey here in Vancouver city GO CANUCKS GO YEA BABY
Trading Barzal makes no sense for the Islanders!! He's the face of the Isles franchse. All this is just speculation for click bait.
Barzal please anythimg to get rid of EP40 marshmellow
Both sides need help …. the Canucks are the Apple Dumpling Gang now Boeser and Peety might not get back to where we seen em shine… Abbotsfords still in the hunt… so a glass half full there… Bridgeport well tigers no more and really over the years are atrocious… they would love Malhotra or Velisic(?) last year… Isles are in no position for others laundry…. unless its a blockbuster swap Duclair can go MacLean Pulok Pelech Mayfield…. and next year isnt really a concern it's a tankathon… Then CBA so I don't see any haste needed except to get younger and pick rich for all teams… Van got jobbed with bad luck and Isles fluked a #1 pick…. Thats life.
Petey is such a more talented player. Barzal, a 2nd and prospect
only if EP40 goes with a salary dump player, and we got Barzal AND a winger like Tsyplakov.
Um no not a good idea
Ironic how everyone considers NYI the oldest, slowest most hopeless team when our core of Barzal, Dobson & Schaefer might be the best skating triad in the league w/ as much upside as almost any Non-Playoff core. Next yr bringing back Boqvist, DeAngelo w/ elite skating D' I George & C.Odelius ready to make the jump. NTM big upside swing J.Pulkken. Throw in C.Ritchie, Danny Nelson & Cole Eiserman who C.Button compares to Bossy & two 26' 1st rd picks in the holster. Ntm after a run of 3 yrs where we ended the seasons of 6 different teams & our only crime was 'only' taking 5 games off the Lightning Dynasty in back to back "Beast of the East' Showdowns & losing to the Canes (2nd best East Conf power in that time) -(NYI 28-21 playoff record) you're allowed a few transition yrs. With our core of Sorokin, Horvat, Barzal, Romanov, Dobson, Pelech, Pulock, Lee, Holmstrom & JGP we can retool very quickly.
Petey for Barzal and a 2026 trade pick would be my choice.
