marner, nylander, tavares, matthews… THE IDEA OF WINNING might be good to them, get stuck in a fantasy, holding the cup….wanting to win is putting your body ON THE LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE, DONT WASTE MY TIME. nylander was ducking out of hits as early as game 4, mitch is too small to do it…and i'm torn because i don't think they're a playoff team without mitch. but what's worse, missing the playoffs or wasting 2 weeks watching this trash every spring.
The Toronto media needs to leave these players alone like American teams don't smother their players.

Another tell of Matthews not being a true leader is that he doesn’t make the players around him better. He has never played in the top line without Marner or Nylander. The real leaders like Crosby, MacKinnon, Draisalt, McDavid, Pasternak, Kopitar, etc etc. can carry their line. They only need supporting players, or “passengers”, and they make them better in the process

38:34 kyper lays into them about the money. There's a sort of catch 22 there because none of them were ever going to turn down the money for a real shot at winning (somewhere else). Which is what makes the whole thing feel like a facade. I want to be the best/highest paid but I'm ok with losing. End of an era with majority of cap towards 4 guys. How the England men's team fail all the time, how Brazil haven't been successful in a long time despite their talent, Belgium's recent so-called "golden generation". That's real pressure. Kyper is right, you will never replace the intangibles that Marner provides day in and day out on the FA market. Leaf fans needs to calm the F down. Taking the defending champs to 7 games is a good outcome. The team just needs to learn how to handle pressure (Games 5 & 7 showed that), and that's a major issue that every good team encounters (even Florida!).
