To us Habs fans, Matthews is viewed as the anti-Suzuki. If the teams made a one-for-one trade involving the two players, the fan base would be in open revolt. Even with Montreal getting the "better" player in the deal.

As a Leaf-hater – I cannot listen to this clip enough. Given the stats you just gave — this has to be their biggest choke. Yes, they were up by 3 goals vs the Bruins, but to lose games 5 and 7 at home the way they did. Wow.

I say this as a life long Leafs fan. They haven't won more than 2 series in any season in their entire existence. While many of the fan base is like the ultra delusional Cowboys fans who believe, despite decades of proof otherwise, that they're going to win the title every year, I am not one of THOSE idiots. I take great pride in being a realist when it comes to my fandom. I knew they weren't going to the conference finals.
